Hi sav11 - yes you can! Seriously! Between RB Digital and PressReader there are heaps of magazines and newspapers available for free. Check if your local library has these apps available, and sign up! If they don't browse around other library services in the area to see who does. Generally you only need to be form the same state to sign up. If you are in Victoria I'd recommend the eresources at Yarra Plenty Regional Libraries or Eastern Regional Libraries.

On iOS safari browser, open afr, then go to website setting (Click AA), then select use reader automatically. Then open any any news content and when the link opens, stop the page From fully loading. That’s it. It’s a one time setup and works 9/10 times for me.
If you block JavaScript on your browser like Chrome, you can view the articles without paying but you cannot see any images.

Check your local public library to see if they have the eResource called PressRead. It has thousands of magazines and nrwspapers around the world in different languages. Also check Zinio, the emagazine platform.
