I've seen similar deals on Ozbargain but worth re-posting due to Rbdigital's easy process and high quality app:
Download and read magazines and comics for free via your local library. Ideal for iPads and other tablets: the app provides a downloadable high res copy of the magazine that can be flicked through as if it were a hard copy.
Example of titles: National Geographic, (Wo)Men's Health, Empire, Better Homes and Gardens, Marvel comics and many others.
This works with most libraries, including rural ones. You will need a free membership. The selection of magazine titles depends on your library, but RBdigital supports multiple libraries per account.
General instructions (can vary per library):
- Download RBDigital App;
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ocd&hl=en_…
IOS: https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/rbdigital/id515311743?mt=8
- Create account and log in with your library card number;
- Browse magazines, add them to your basket and check out for free;
- Start reading in the app!
Below you will find a list of main libraries per capital state. Alternatively, just Google the name of your library + "Rbdigital" to get instructions.

Good to know: RBDigital used to be Zinio. People seem to prefer the old Zinio app, but libraries have switched to RBDigital.
