Looks like it has gone up in price? seems to be $30 all you can eat previously and the reviews make it seem like you will get a memorable night ie dont drink anything lol

    Reviews are pretty bad

    http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/70/752277/restaurant/CBD/Tony-Ro…

Tony Romas have 'all you can eat ribs". Yes, all u can eat… One little riblet at a time. 3 mins to eat, 20 min wait for next riblet. What a joke!!! Don't go.

My partner and I dined at the Sydney restaurant on Tuesday 25th January 2011 and were very diaspoointed by the food and poor service we received.

Service is terrible….food is so so

I don't believe any of the food we were served was fresh. Luke warm, straight out of the microwave.

Have had several people recommend it but was a completely crap exprience. Better to call this deal "all you can be bothered bringing yourself to eat".

  • …and this is a bargain how?

  • +1

shame for big franchises like this, seems the head office must be notified about sydney branch performance.
already heard not so good reviews since 8 years ago!

fyi, pancake the rocks 's beef ribs are yummy

    • +1.

Sorry, OP. Unless you can guarantee all-new staff (kitchen AND front of house) AND cooking/serving methods. I will never go back. Was last there back in 2009 and all I remember was spending half of my evening trying to find staff to serve us (drinks, orders) and the other half of the time wishing I had a microwave handy to reheat the cold ribs. :-(

  • There is no way with a packed restaurant AND all you can eat that Tony Romas can you serve you up fresh properly cooked ribs that are supposed to have been slow cooked for several hours. These ribs come pre-cooked by the masses and are either heated on the grill for a few mins or microwaved.

  • hey check t&c number 6. surcharge $2.50 when you left meat on the bone. imagine if you have to clean some bones infront of cashier because they inspect each and every bones using gloves …hahahahaha….

    • or if some friends leave early and you have to clean off their bones so you won't get charged for them…

  • been here once in sydney, all i can remember was an american yelling "Thanks for f***ing ruining our evening!" to one of the waiters and stormed out without paying.

As for my experiance, it sucked completely…took forever for the meals to come out…

This was on Cudo back in February for $15. Even then it was barely a bargain. We were treated completely different to everyone else in the restaurant because we were going for this deal - service was terrible.

    • i think this kind of "different treatment because you pay less" is common amongst group deal. just recently had the same thing on $5 vietnamese wrap and roll offer from JOI.

LOL - the pic of the lady eating the rib is pure pr0n…

    • hahahaha good observation :D

  • What's a good rib place in sydney guys? since this place isn't it.

    • Hurricanes at Bondi. Also at Darling Harbour and Top Ryde now

    • Agree on Hurricanes. Ribs n Rumps in Manly is my favourite though.

    • Hurricanes, Ribs and Rumps, and also Meat And Wine.

      • dont forget pancake the rock they sell ribs too and the beef's one is yummy
also maybe hog's breath in bondi ?
meat and wine price is shocking.

        • Well, good doesn't always means cheap right?

    • A few (errm….60+) from Facebook, Twitter etc are going to try a new place at Alexandria this week. I've been reluctant to post their "1kg rack for $20.00" offer (available until end of this month) as a bargain as I haven't tried it myself. BTW - if anyone wants to come along… http://twtvite.com/SYDRIBS_RIBFEST ;-)

In terms of other good ribs places in Sydney: Hurricanes, Meat & Wine (both mentioned elsewhere in this thread) and Blue Plate (http://blueplate.com.au) spring to mind.

  • The ribs are average, and those T&Cs are ludicrous. Go elsewhere and save your money

  • I bought 5 vouchers from Cudo last February, only used them once and gave the rest to my mates. Extremely slow service, dry and cold ribs. Would not go again even with $15 voucher.

Comments are noted and highly appreciated, the Tony Roma's Sydney team is there to ensure a 100% happy and memorable dining expereience, and that includes the best quality service and food. Come and try for your self the "All you can eat riblets" judge for your self. Keep the messages rolling in!

    • +2

We just judged for ourselves already, read all the above ribfreak…

Sorry mate unless we see "under new management" i dont think im willing to try again. Someone else can be the guinea pig now :P

      • +1

Someone else can be the guinea pig now

Agreed, I'm not going to spend $40 and receive 1 rib every 20 minutes…

    • +1

Well, as a rep you got a great opportunity here to give some guarantee of how the service should look like. If you can guarantee that the triple riblets will be replenished within 5 minutes and that they will be properly cooked otherwise no payment - I will be in - and many others too.
Otherwise noone is going to risk same experience your previous customers had.
Brave enough to support your service with such guarantee? Or not so…

  • Is there a in house doctor in case someone gets a heart attack from eating too much?

  • This place used to be pretty good. I loved the ribs and tangy sauce, but the last three times I've been the quality has gone very, very far downhill. The ribs are no longer tender and the service takes ages.

By the way, $39.90 is your NORMAL price. Try another deal like your $15 all-you-can-eat.

    • maybe with $10 all you can eat ribs only, i will try again…

  • +1

by the way, $39 much better spend to buffet all you can eat japanese BBQ at neutral bay.
over 40 types of dishes, also all you can eat green tea icecream hehehe
food incl prawns, beef tongues, etc

    • Or u can try Churrasco at William St for around that price too, much better food.

  • Wow, sounds like a complete rip-off if the reviews are anything to go by. Sizzler's Salad Bar would seemingly be a much better feed…(especially since there is no charge for the complimentary rat poison. Mmm, yummy! :D)

  • Haha great advertising…a few good suggestions of where to eat and & not one them being this place.

  • feel sad for the rep. first, he/she thought "lets advertise in this forum! let more people know about us ! more customers ~!" they excited… they posted the deal… then… horror!!!! now more people know about them, but know about how BAD they are.. hahahaha

    • Generating constructive Feedback, is part of ongoing improving in the Tony Roma's Guest Service experience. Imagine the horror if there were no comments at all generated, transparently knowing how 0.0001% of total guests whom apparently have tried the "All You can eat Riblets" to date previously might be looking for other improvements that have recently been added to the Tony Roma's Sydney should they try, opinion will be changed and we would have gained numerous more "guests for life". So please do continue to offer sensible feedback as anything less does clearly indicate the passion of thought, and not the process.
