  • The pixel policy says: "No manufacturer can guarantee that all panels will be free from pixel defects"

Well there are many manufacturers that do make such a guarantee and offer a replacement if said guarantee was not met.

Its not a bad deal, but I'd much rather get one with a zero defective pixel policy.

    • Well the rep has just said there is a 30 day Zero Defective Pixel Guarantee, so I guess if this monitor suits you, then go for it.

  • I couldn't find any warranty policy regarding faulty pixels: http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/2/202el2sb_75/202el2sb… page 43 "Please refer the pixel policy for more detail".
So where is this policy and why it's so difficult to find it?

And also I don't think that you're selling this monitor due to overstock issue, by looking at the warranty document Australia isn't included in "Philips F1rst Choice Warranty"

    Again Australia ripped off.

    • Search: "Defective"

      • "to qualify for repair or replacement under warranty, the number of pixel defects on a TFT LCD panel must exceed these acceptable levels. For example, no more than 0.0004% of the sub pixels on a 20" XGA monitor may be defective"

        • 1600 x 900 x 3 sub-pixels x 0.0004% = 4320000 sub-pixels x 0.0004% = 17.28 sub-pixels

Up to 17 malfunctioning pixels is deemed acceptable! Is this the worst pixel policy of them all?

And why does the title say "free shipping" when the Rep wrote "Send us your delivery address to confirm postage cost"? Is the shipping free or not???

        • +1

          Yes, free shipping

        • +1

Total bright or black dot defects of all types 5 or fewer is considered as acceptable level defect policy as detailed on page 19 or (21 of 50 of PDF)

Seem like 0.0004% of the sub pixels is just example.

Anyway we are willing to bet against the quality of these Philips monitor, so if there any pixel defect, we will replace it and worst case if we are out stock, we will refund your money.
