            • @jazattack: Exactly Jaz KJ is the useless unit that is always having to be converted.

            • @jazattack: Take the nutritional value with a grain of salt.

E.g. The meat chilli and beans apparently apparently has 70.3g protein per serving.

It's delicious and I'll purchase again, but I believe the calculations are way off.

              • @Cyrax: The protein content is correct. When you add the beans and the meat, the protein comes up as 70g. 70g is not just for the Meat, it's for the entire meal. At least that's what the nutrition calculator said.

        • I think you're the only person in the world using kJ

        • I suppose you want them to put kg in instead of grams

        • Depending on how anal you have to be, just multiply calories by 4 to get KJ.

Calories is easier to use anyway, 4g protein or carb per cal, 9g fat per cal. (Excluding thermic effect in protein etc).

  • +1

Looks good OP. Prices have gone up $1 per meal for the $6.90 range though?

Good to see you added nutritional info after last post.

    • sorry about that, had to do it unfortunately, we did bring out an even cheaper range of $4.90 meals

  • Placed another order. Was so good last time. Thanks!

Unless I'm blind, it might be worth adding a page/menu item for extras/desserts. I could only find them on the popups after ordering other things.

    • +2

yes, we have been thinking about that… will add the munchies and desserts as a category option. thanks for the order.

      • +4

Lol, part of me is hoping you make the cornbread available for separate purchase, the other part is really hoping you donโ€™t.

  • OP, I have just ordered all of your $4.90 & 6.90 meals as well as the deserts.

I am looking at my confirmation email and is showing the $4.90 meals charged at $5.39 and the $6.90 meals charged at $7.59.

What is going on there? Was GST not included in the prices advertised?

    • +1

it's showing those numbers but charging the correct amount. Technology is the BEST! Please check and you will find that the amount you actually paid is the $4.90 and $6.90

      • +2

Can confirm what gregor said is correct.

        • +1

thanks… it's freaky how it does that… will be saying some harsh words to the developer.

      • Ok, good. If these are more filling than Youfoodz and you will have earned a permanent customer.

        • So far Iโ€™ve only tried the $8.90 and $14.90 meals but they are far superior in taste to the few youfoodz that I tried 18 or so months ago.

          • +2

@mapax: thanks for that… we believe they are tastier, but we are biased :)

Possibly the difference is that we dop not have any mass manufacturing systems, processes and equipment. Everything is made the same way all our restaurant food is prepared. Just in bigger pots. So what you are getting is restaurant prepared food not mass produced foods. We also don't have any food science ingredients like stabilisers, thickeners, colours etc…. not even sure where to get them and how to use them.

        • +1

I've tried the $4.90 meals and can confirm they $h!t all over youfoodz - quality and quantity

  • $55 postage to WA! Its like you don't love us.

    • +1

we LOVE YOU!! The couriers hate you. Please DM your suburb and maybe I can make it cheaper.

  • +2

I can vouch for the quality and serving size of the meals, I just placed my second order.. yesterday ๐Ÿ˜…
How long will this deal last before expiring?
    Thanks!

    • +2

thanks for the second order! please DM the order number I will organise a refund of the discount. Don't want you to miss out.
The deal should be available for at least 2 weeks.

      • Absolute legend, thanks! I've DM'd you.

        • +3

          done

  • Hopefully you can scale your business enough in Melbourne to warrant opening other stores interstate. Because at the moment the shipping kills it.

    • sorry about that. can you let me know the post code and I will see what we can do

      • postcode 4068. 7km from brisbane CBD

        $30 8kg
        $35 over 8kg

        • unfortunately at this stage that has to stay, freight is a minimum of $48 by TNT Road Express… we are discussing freight options using refrigerated trucks. Maybe they take longer but charge less. Stay tuned should know in the next couple of days.

          • @gregor20: Yes please provide an update if you manage to make shipping cheaper via refrigerated if trucks. Will definitely pop through an order if so.

            • @kerin12: I'd be interested too. I'm at 4007 and would be keep to try a few of these meals.

              • @Sirlofty: No worries, will let you know.

          • @gregor20: Any closer to doing refrigerated transport? My order got cancelled last time, so doing a double order with the wife (I work away). So far it's coming to 36 meals and $230 with $35 delivery to Brisbane (20x4.90 + 16x6.90). Is this enough to get delivered to 4165? When is the latest I can make the order for next Monday's dispatch?

            • +2

@dmbminaret: We are discussing this with 3 cold freight courier companies. Let me come back to you tomorrow please.

              • +1

                @gregor20: Awesome. Thanks.

                • @dmbminaret: Hi, we are still working things out, unfortunately. However, if you place the order you mentioned, we will send it to you. Thanks for your perseverance.

                  • @gregor20: All good. I might wait till next week to do the order and give you more time. I still have 40 odd meals from youfoodz and others to keep going if the code is going to be ok for a while? I can't see an expiry.

                    • @dmbminaret: no worries, thanks, will let you know soon.

    Hi guys,

Can you look to decrease the shipping cost to WA? I really want to try the food but at $55 shipping the Ozbargainer in me is fighting me tooth and nail. I'm going to be doing a lot of math later to try to justify a buy.

Secondly, how long does it take from ordering to arriving on my door? I work FIFO so I'd want to time an order to arrive when I do if I can.

    • can you please provide a post code and I will have alook

  • I'm keen to order but does the BBQ Meat pack need an over/grill to reheat? I only have a microwave and a stovetop.

    • Microwave can work and so is a stovetop.

      • Awesome!! Just ordered 11 items for pickup!! I cannot wait!

        • thanks

  • I long for the day I can gorge myself in the actual restaurant. I tried the Easter survival pack for the first time. Just feel it's just not the same eating it at home. Keep up the good work. Plus hot staff. Hope their still on board.

    • +1

soon we hope. Fingers crossed they will let us open around the beginning of June.

  • How long is the code working for?

    • +1

it should be valid for at least 2 weeks

      • Great! Too late to cancel my hello fresh for this week but definitely ordering next week :) how far in advance can I set a delivery date? Will help me plan meals for the near future.

        • we normally ask for 5 to 7 days to get the order organised and sent

  • Awesome job OP. Long time fan of the restaurant here. Ordered the $6.9 packs last time around and they were delicious and they come with a lot of food - which is to be expected from you guys :)

Will try out the $4.9 range now and i think also some of the $11.9 which look great!

    • thank you. Glad you liked the previous order!

  • I'm already on my second order! Looks like a 3rd might be due soon…

By the way @gregor20 or any of you guys who had ordered the $8.90 chicken wing (Wings Away meal), what's the best way to reheat the chicken? Unfortunately, mine is the older batch, so that one got no label nor specific instruction for chicken. Website only have instructions for BBQed meal (ordered ribs and brisket, both were amazing!)

    Thanks all!

    • +1

Thanks… best way to reheat the meals is in an oven, set it to around 160 degrees. Under foil.
If oven is not available, reheating in a microwave will work as well. After defrosting around 2 to 3 minutes (till hot)

      • @gregor20, just reheated my chicken wrapped in foil at 160 degrees for ~35min and realised that the wings actually came originally uncooked! No wonder when I opened the packaging from the fridge after thawing overnight, there's a slimy/raw smell!!!

From the description (https://www.queyou.com.au/collections/8-9-eat-at-home-meals), I thought the chicken are supposed to be smoked and cooked, and only need to be reheated? It just shocked me when I opened all the chicken wings, they were visibly raw after spending 35 minutes in the oven! (I would send you a picture separately for proof via PM). Secondly, if it's meant to be raw, WHY IS THIS NOT LABELLED OR FLAGGED ANYWHERE?

Imagine if you just follow instructions and reheat this in a microwave, no chance the chicken will cook properly in 2-3 minutes!

Apologies for the strong response, but I'm just a bit shocked. Given my first batch, everything went smoothly (mind you I didn't order any chicken product). I am also trying to be understanding as well given you guys are probably smashed with orders. But maybe this constructive feedback is something to be taken onboard.

        • +2

As I mentioned on the private message, apologies for this. Not sure exactly what happened here. We will be investigating this with the chefs. Your refund was done.

  • +1

Is it just me, i only see 4 meals of $4.90 Cant seem to find the other meals in the menu listed above

    Dont worry found it

  • Ordered about 2 weeks ago. They arrived in Sydney still frozen!
Most tastes really nice too. Will be ordering again. Thanks OP

    • thanks… glad to hear the order went well!

  • Thanks OP! I've enjoyed eating in at Third Wave in the past - lodged an order! Now to make space in the freezer ๐Ÿคฃ

    • great and thank you. Hope to see you again when we are allowed to open.

  • is there any way to alter the order? I didnt realise bbq were also microwaveable and wanted to see if i can add that to my order?

    • That's fine, please DM your order number and the additions to the order. We will organise.

      • dw i accepted offer in check out page and added the bbq set seperately.

        • ok, is there anything we still need to do manually?

  • Hey OP, what are the dimensions of the 4.90 and 6.90 meals? I need to figure out if I have enough freezer space to store them.

    • They are approx 18cm x 12cm x 5cm

      • Awesome, thanks for providing those!

  • Are you still doing 2 for 1 burgers instore? Otherwise I'll have to settle for more ribs..

Also noticed you're on CR now?! https://www.cashrewards.com.au/thirdwave-cafe

    • +1

Unfortunately no 2 for 2 burgers… In store we are doing 25% off the entire menu for pickup… And yes we are on CR for pickup.

      • If it's 25% the entire menu for pickup, is it better to come in store without an online order? A 25% discount would motivate me to order/pickup more than 10%.

  • +1

After my first order went through I got an offer something like- "You have unlocked a 10% discount and free shipping if you order again within 20 minutes" but when I tried to order I got the 10% off but not the free shipping. Is the free shipping only for certain areas?

    • prob free shipping as in they will add the item you bought into current order hence "free" shipping

  • Ordered approx 3 weeks ago.

    Arrived frozen.

    Risotto was nice.
Chilli was a little too spicy (but I'm a wuss, and the dish is called chilli)
Burger Mac (macaroni) was ok, bit weird.

Altogether amazing value and convenience. Bought 13 meals delivered for around $110 bucks.

    • thanks.

  • Just got our delivery yesterday. Cool packaging. Is there a particular way we are supposed to dispose of the Dry-Ice packs?

    • +1

Just throw them out. Unfortunately, they can not be reused.

  • Hi OP. I just want to check how long the process will take? 5-7 days or business days? I ordered last week on Thursday. I want to make sure that I'll be at home when it's delivered.

    • Hi, can you let me know the order number and I will be able to let you know exactly.

      • I have sent you a dm stating my order no. Thanks op!

  • Hey Rep,

What time / days can you pick up your order.

I cannot see it on the site / on the sms / or email i received.

    Thanks

    • you are welcome to pickup anytime from 8am to 8:30pm

  • Hi OP,
When making payment with credit card, will it be paid to third wave?
The reason I'm asking is because Cashrewards has a 11% cashback https://www.cashrewards.com.au/thirdwave-cafe/in-store (I know it says in-store but sometimes it works for online too)
    Thanks!

    • It will be paid to QueYou BBQ, it is a different business. Cashrewards is for Third Wave and available in store only.
