Frost 7-Piece Masonry Drill Bits $10.01 (Was $19.95) @ Bunnings (Selected Stores Only)

180

Not on their site or Price Hipster anymore so possibly a deleted item that could be discounted elsewhere.

Maybe not the bees knees but I'm guessing (hoping) it's a step up from the likes of Ryobi, and obviously generics like Craftright and Workzone. Still have another set handy but from how quickly masonry bits seem to die even with my infrequent use seemed like a decent price to pickup branded spares. Plus comes with a case to re-use, not just a cheap-ass plastic blister case they came with last time.

Here's a Googled up link at another store for a better look at product:

I gave up on Frost drills several years ago. I've had two of them split along the spiral. It was pretty much a split half way down that meant I could unscrew the loose half of the tip.

  • Nevr had trouble with basic Craftright and Workzone tools.

I got the Hitachi drill bit set advertised here years ago; its top notch.

Dormer make some very good Drill bits used to made in the UK, now it is made in Brazil. But the quality seems to be good.

  • $15 at Canno

  • While some have mentioned that Frost isn't great quality, is the discounted price of $10 make it a deal, ie. good value for the $? Otherwise, better options of good value?

  • Any other good value drill bits for DIY use to keep?

I’ve got WorkZone (Aldi) and found them to be decent for the $10 price. I find I like using Xtorque (Sydney Tools) and Irwin drill bits the most.

I just got back from my local Bunnings (Melton), they had the Frost set for $7.50 so I grabbed a set. They also had the AEG 21pc HSS drill bit set on clearance for $12.50 so I grabbed that as sell.
If anyone wants a receipt let me know and I’ll upload it for you.

  • It is $15 at Alexandria and Kingsgrove (NSW). The lady behind the counter confirmed that special is discretionary to each store's manager
