[VIC, NSW, SA] AGL Online Sign up Offers - VIC: $100 Mastercard, NSW & QLD: $100 Credit, SA: $50 Credit

50

If you switch to AGL (direct, and online only) for VIC customers you'll get a $100 Prepaid Mastercard (that's $50 for Elec, $50 for gas). AGL are competitive in VIC, run a 24x7 support centre and have #1 ranked app in energy.

Good news is NSW and QLD customers can still get the $100 bill credit on online sign up ($50 for SA).

Cheers

expiry date was 10/15/2020 but deal was extended and is still active as of 27/5/2020.
      edit : "Offer extended to 23:59 30 June 2020" - Victoria

I was an existing customer in Victoria, switched from my existing plan to the applicable plan and received the payout after the 10 day cooling off period. Their plans have no lock in period so you could switch back after getting the payout if it suited you.

If you were already on the variable rate plan my guess is you could switch out to their fixed rate plan and back but not sure on that.

As OP says, AGL are "competitive" (but almost certainly not the cheapest over a year or two). Probably easily absorb that $100 in higher bills.
I would certainly recommend checking around first.
