Can use an app for your phone instead.

    • +7

      But you won't be a 1080p camhoe

      • IP Webcam supports up to 1080p no worries. Worked fine at 1080p for me

        • I tried "IP Camera" app.

1080p worked fine as an IP camera, but if you use the Camera Adapter driver to turn it into a webcam so its actually useful then ur get massive lag issues unless 640x480. :(

          • +1

@D1Vad: I am currently using: https://instant-webcam.com/ (free on ios; it creates a stream which you can address via http url) I hook this up into OBS Studio through the browser device input. From there I use the virtual webcam output from OBS. Instant webcam needs ios8 and above to run, so I have had it running on a iphone 4 through to Ipad Air 2. Obviously the quality varies, depending on the wifi quality and device age but it works quite well on a zappy phone.

            • @feral: Well the "IP Camera" app works fantastic.

Thanks for the heads up, I will give OBS a shot as the webcam adapter.

            • @feral: Tried OBS and the virtual webcam plugin.

Same unusable delay when using 720p or 1080p.

Note: that the IP Camera feed is perfect and no delay, but there is massive delay once i view the feed in OBS (even before i activate virtual webcam).

            • +1

@feral: Found a 1080p phone solution that works!

              After trying.
              "IP Camera" with driver/mannycam/OBS
              And
              "DroidCAM" (free only does SD)

              iVCam is the winner!

1080p 30fps working great, no LAG. Plus it is the easiest one to setup and use.

So thanks everyone for saying 1080p from phone is possible :D

              • @D1Vad: Any deals on iVCam pro?

                • @klownz: No idea. It was way to pricey to buy.

Switched over to DroidCAM, free version gives SD and only $5 to buy to get HD.

But decided just to use my old logitech C170. It doesnt look nearly as good as using my pixel2 (even in SD), but easier to use and mounted ready to go.

    • I just tried using the ndx app, didn't (profanity) work - any recommendations that actually do work ?

      • I just set this up for my sons remote learning without any hiccups

        http://www.skipser.com/p/2/p/android-as-webcam.html

      • Iriun

        iVCam

Both support 4k. But only iVCam supports 4k on my phone. 4k is laggy though (this is over wifi, can be bothered to try USB). Also iVCam supports 1080 @ 60fps too.

      • Assuming you mean NDI, it works fine. You need a good wifi connection (PC will ideally be wired) and to obviously be on the same network as the PC. Apart from the, check your firewall.

  • Note that the Logitech C930C is the Overseas Variant of the the Logitech C930E

    • is that a bad thing? i assume it just uses the same drivers?

      • +4

I've got the C, it's fine. The drivers are just spelled with what I assume is Chinese symbols (so no actual issue)

        • ta :)

Only difference with mine is product has a non English name in windows. I purchased off Facebook MP recently

    Another great deal
    Webcam - $161

    Wow…

You dropped your price 3% !!!

  • $161
what's so good about this camera?
Does it do real time hardware 4K HEVC streaming?

    • +1

this is an old model, used in many conference room fitouts over the last 5+ years (could be closer to 10). Does have issues, but price reflects a good overall rep, not best value or latest design.

  • 4X HD Zoom

What exactly makes it "HD" zoom?

    • it means you can zoom in (like pinch zoom on your phone), nothing to do with Zoom-App.

      • nothing to do with Zoom-App

Where did I say I thought it was related to the app?

it means you can zoom in (like pinch zoom on your phone)

So it's just regular digital zoom - again why is it HD zoom?

        • +1

Because it's zooming within a HD resolution video feed?

It's just marketing nonsense, don't take it too seriously.

          • @Miami Mall Alien: But my zooming in, the resolution will probably go below HD (because it's digital, not optical zoom). Sounds more like lying than marketing.

  • +3

As the lockdown eases, there could be retailers left with excess stock. This could lead to some discounting in the near future and could be worth waiting it out if you can.

  • +3

Multimedia Technology has been quoting $239 ex GST for this model to all their suppliers. It's not a bad deal from Tobydeals in comparison to an Australian wholesale supplier.

    • Wow, I assume this is a different version then? - https://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/c930e-webcam

      • +2

RichardL covered it above. The c will probably come in Logitech China packaging. Feature wise they're identical afaik.

        • Whoops, missed it, thanks!

    • $239.95 is merely RRP, as per Logitech's website.

I would be comparing it to next nearest competitors on StaticICE, in which case, this is still the cheapest price and more importantly it's in stock unlike most of those other retailers I imagine.

      • The difference is that MMT is a distributor so their prices are usually cheaper and then resold by the stores listed at staticice. Obviously MMT are charging a higher than normal retail price and thus my point that this is a good deal in comparison stands.

  • bugger i've got the brio ultra on back order right now and was tempted to cancel and order this but they aren't exactly comparable for FOV

  • +4

Excellent deal considering how all webcams are out of stock in all stores or massively marked up online. Ordered, so will see how it goes.

For those that can't afford the high webcam prices in these tough times. You already have a webcam in your pocket…

Nope, I'm just glad to see you.

      • +2

Looks like 480p from where im standing ;)

        • Are you into lace? Or are you progressive?

  • That seems really expensive for a webcam…

    • Cheapest price at the moment.

      RRP is $239.95.

It's a deal by all standards.

      • Not saying it’s not a deal by today’s relative prices. Just seems expensive when you can get mobile phones with cameras and everything else for less than that.

    • +1

Lol, a deal by today's standards indeed. At the start of the pandemic you could get these second hand on ebay for $30. I got mine a couple of weeks later for $60. You are being royally ripped off for $180. These things have not changed in over 5 years.

      • I'd like to see where you got this particular model for $60

        • +1

c930c is the Chinese model. I got the Australian model (c930e) for $45 second hand in March on eBay from a top rated seller. Works perfectly.

        • Probably the same place as triviums but I pulled the trigger later because the seller kept on increasing the price. It's good for $60. No way is it worth $180.

    • +3

This is actually a good price for this webcam. I bought mine from another store for $230 4 weeks ago to work from home when there were no webcams in stock anywhere and we were all locked down.

Cam works well with the usual platforms (I use Webex, Microsoft Teams and zoom). It is widescreen so you can see more than one person, but also has a digital zoom which I find useful when you don't want to show too much background.

I find it more convenient than setting up your phone camera etc if you video conference constantly as it is always there.

Also comes with a mechanical lid that covers the camera lens if you are concerned about privacy/hacks

    • I got a C930e for $199 from Umart a few weeks ago. It is very expensive, but demand has driven prices through the roof unfortunately.

  • Work on Xbox one with twitch?

  • I think the c in 930 means it is a chinese model.

  • Anyone got recent experience with buying from these guys?
I'm wanting to buy a samsung a5100 from them but there is a flood of reviews on their store saying they never even posted the item and ignored refund requests.

    • +1

I ordered the webcam myself on Tuesday morning and it was shipped the same day. The courier's tracking updates have it leaving Hong Kong already for Australia.

I will say that I don't like that TobyDeals use a notoriously disliked and unreliable courier called DPEX (based in Singapore), who have pretty poor reviews, but I would wager that it's the same level of service you get with similarly unreliable couriers used by AliExpress, Banggood or Taobao; generally, they're just slow and if your parcel does go missing, you can just get a refund or launch a PayPal dispute to get your money back, so the risk isn't that great.

  • no updates since the 30th here…

    In Transit to Destination

    assuming it has landed already

    • +1

      Same with my order.

Like a lot of overseas couriers, DPEX probably can't see any further updates once the shipment has arrived in the destination country.

It's likely both our orders are at a sorting facility in Australia at the moment but given the delays in the logistics, freight and postal networks over the past few months, expect it to take a lot more time than it should. That's not necessarily a poor reflection on TobyDeals, but any international shipments, even something as simple as an envelope, are just taking forever at the moment.

I'm still waiting on some interstate orders that had an ETA of one week ago.

  • +1

Still waiting 4 weeks for a tracking number on a phone listed as 'In Stock'. They ignore every single contact attempt. Avoid at all costs, they're muppets.

Store rep also ignores messages on Ozbargain.

    • Still waiting 4 weeks for a tracking number on a phone listed as 'In Stock'.

So obviously not the product featured in this deal?
Not sure how that's relevant here.

I ordered the webcam and received it within 2 weeks (with the stock coming from Hong Kong), as I'm sure numerous other users did or they'd be back here complaining.

Any delays in delivery are likely due to COVID-related shipping/logistics problems and the courier Tobydeals use, which is the Singaporean-based DPEX, who are notoriously renowned for being unreliable and slow.

Yes that doesn't excuse Tobydeals' lack of communication on the issue but waiting 4 weeks or more, even the most trivial of orders in the current global climate, is not remotely out of the ordinary (Australia Post parcels from the Eastern States to WA are taking that long at the moment). I think your order is just delayed but it will reach you eventually.

  • anyone get these and the picture quality is blurry? 1 was good 2 have been bad, have not personally seen the issue but will next week.

    • +1

Mine's excellent, I had people commenting in Zoom meetings that the video feed was extremely clear and high-resolution.

      • i figure its their settings have a session with them friday will figure it out
