  • You’ll practice real on-street scenarios, including responding to abusive drivers with your middle finger, managing intersections when cars fail to give way and say "sorry mate I didn't see you", braking when dogs jump under your wheel when they should have been on a leash and gear selection that you'll always stuff up when you hit a wall. Your instructor will help you with route selection, to pick a supposed cycleway that is littered with ignorant pedestrians making you wish you just rode on the road anyway and dice it with death because it's less annoying than having to deal with the Karen's and their fitbit step driven attempt at weight loss. They'll eventually give up on helping you work out the best route between home and work because it's all a lost cause anyway.

"And this road here on the left, is certain death"

Good idea, I'm a experienced cyclist and can see it as really nerve racking for people starting out in Sydney, roads and cyclesways are a mess here, typical of the state government dysfunction.
