Bought this in the previous deal. It's really good.

    Just buy it.

    • Same

    • Thanks for the advise, bbb

    • Can vouch too! I just ordered another one!

  • I own one, down side it it doesn't have a power on indicator LED on top, you can plug in things to charge and find that the charger wasn't turned on at the power point, or the power cable was loose. Doesn't charge my HP Windows tablet, needs more power, so I use my 60W macbook PD charger.

    Alse it's all good.

  • Yesssssssss, ordered 3 - missed out last time so want to make sure I have spares!

  • +2

Is this one similar with Xiaomi GaN 65W charger? Does it have the same firmware issue?

    https://en.xiaomitoday.it/xiaomi-ritira-dal-mercato-il-caric…

    • That's disappointing, I was keen on getting one because I like the small footprint.

    • That's a concern. It's unfortunate that it's not clear from the article which other Xiaomi 65W fast chargers are affected but this does fall into that category.

  • would it work with my raspberry pi?

    • the model 4b? probably - you'll need the usb-c to usb-c cable

  • Thanks OP! Was deciding between the Ravpower or the Choetech USB C chargers and this popped up!

  • as a simple alternative, Targus 45W USB-C charger works a treat with my Dell Latitude laptops.

    about $25+ from eBay delivered

single device charging, but I haven't felt that was limiting in any way.

    • +1

checked just now, $26.90 with free delivery

    • How does that AU 2 prong adapter work? Is there a US plug underneath that it plugs into?

      • +1

I didn't even realise the AU plug was removable on Targus. it is, and underneath there's a figure 8 slot. takes a figure 8 cable if you need a different plug.

    • +1

Are you referring to this product? According to Targus, the product was recalled. Not sure what's wrong with it.

      https://www.targus.com/Content/Images/uploaded/Australia/doc…
      https://www.productsafety.gov.au/recall/targus-australia-pty…

      • +1

It says right in the recall notice:

There is potential on some units for the faceplate to separate from the body of the AC plug head, exposing live parts.

        • ah perfect thank you, I will email them then.

what a shitty replacement then! haha

probably I shall attack eBay seller for selling recalled products!

          • @[Deactivated]: It's possible(?) that the eBay seller is selling an updated model. Since the recall didn't list specific serial number ranges, I'd expect them to have updated the model number, but the only eBay listings I could find did not specify a model number at all, unfortunately.

            • @elusive: possible, I contacted the email in recall notice to clarify. thank you!

          • @[Deactivated]: Yeah that seems dodgy. Maybe the seller doesn't know but would be great to contact them and ask for a clarification. I think notify Ebay as well because they shouldn't allow this to be advertised.

Potential to separate and exposing live parts? Thats dangerous man!

            • @Davesday: contacted Targus, they will send a 65W replacement for free

              https://au.targus.com/products/65w-usb-c-usb-a-laptop-charge…

              • @[Deactivated]: Wait… they are giving you a free upgrade for buying a 45W product that is cheaper? Seems like a good deal? LOL!

                • +1

@Davesday: precisely. that's the power of ozbargain, I found a bettet deal by reporting a cheaper alternative and listening to another member's advice! haha

                  • @[Deactivated]: Good stuff. I am glad you got yourself a good outcome. By the way any news from the Ebay seller? If Targus is offering a replacement then they must have confirmed the product is indeed a recall product. Well in that case, the seller is very irresponsible unless they don't know about it.

                    • @Davesday: Targus told me they got in contact with the seller. so hopefully everyone will get this straight

      • thank you for bringing this up, it does appear to be the product, and the seller seems to be still selling it. contacted the email address in the recall notice to clarify.

      • +1

if you buy it, lodge request with Targus, they will send 65W replacement for free.

Why are there 2x Figure 8 cables? Are they for world travel?

    • +3

      1x US/CN cable
      1x AU cable

Yes it can be used for other countries as well, simply swap out the figure 8 cable

      • Is the AC Lead Cord 3 or 2 pronged for AU?

        • +1

Figure 8 cables have.. two contacts, thus, two prongs

How do you expect a figure 8 cable have 3 prongs?

          • @cwongtech: lol on the Aus side. i.e. is it earthed (does it have the vertical prong).

            • @ts13: Lol.
How do you earth a figure 8 cable?

          • @cwongtech: My Dell charger has a dummy earth prong, this is why I am asking, so yes it is possible to have 3 prongs even if you have a two contacts ;)

            • @tabboy: Serious question - do you mind taking a photo?

So the dummy earth prong is made out of plastic you mean?

  • Thanks for posting MM, missed out on the last deal and have been waiting for them to come back.

  • Why are these going up in price?.

    • +2

AUD going down - at a guess

  • Tempted but doesn't support PPS.
I might wait for a charger that does.

  • Thanks. Ordered one for my Lenovo T480. @Mostly Melbourne - Should be ok to charge my Lenovo right?

  • So can i charge a macbook air, ipad pro 12.9, and a google pixel (I guess using usb-a) all with this one plug without a power brick for each?

    boom!

  • Thanks, got 2 of them :)

  • Will this charge my X1 Carbon 6th Gen along with my phone and other smaller knick knacks at the same time?

  • +1

thanks, bought one, hopefully it will work on my hp spectre x360

  • Got it. Thanks :)

  • Hi OP,
Will this work with my HP Spectre X360-13 (AE010TU) laptop?? Please let me know so that I can purchase it.
    Kind regards.

    • +1

      Hi David

Here's a full list of compatible devices
      https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dU8eH4O3-WgppnBXMjpu…

      • Thanks. I wrote to your online store but did not get a reply, so I appreciate your reply here for others to see too.

Just to confirm then that it will work with my laptop as your document shows "HP Spectre x360 13" is compatible.

        Thank you again!

  • And the deal has ended, I must have just missed out…

    • Worked for me just now. Thanks OP

      • Working for me now as well, not sure what happened there! Got one just in case it stopped working for me again.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP for the link to the detailed teardown!

  • Thanks OP, this is perfect for travel!

  • Hi OP,
If I plug in my laptop and my mobile phone into this charger, I realise that the laptop will only charge at 45W, but do you know whether it will go up to 65W once the phone is fully charged? Or do I have to physically unplug the mobile phone to get 65W on the laptop?

    • I hope that I don't miss out on this deal while I am waiting for a response from the OP. :-)

    • Please post their answer here.

      • The OP never answered me :-(
I assume that if anything at all is plugged into the other ports - whether charging or not - then only 45W is available from the first USB-C port.

        • +2

Sorry for late reply, yes this is correct.

Even if no device is plugged in, as long as the port is occupied (with a cable even), it'll downgrade to 45W

  • Out of stock?

  • So the product delivered in a timely manner considering the current situation. It works really well. However I noticed the product does not have any RCM certifications. Not even CE/FCC logos. Anyone knows if this would be a problem in the long run?

  • @Mostly Melbourne: If you would know or anyone else:

Has anyone faced an issue when you have laptop charging and you connect your phone as well to charge - the laptop battery on the screen blinks constantly?

Not even sure if the laptop is charging. I have a Lenovo T480.

    • Just checking that you're using the left most USB-C port for your laptop (the one with a computer screen icon)? This port can go up to 65W. The one in the middle is only good for up to 18W (has a phone/tablet icon).

      • That is right mate. I am using USB C - USB C for my laptop and the other USB port for my phone charging.

It only happens when both laptop and phone are connected together.

        • Is your laptop blinking because it's detecting 45W instead of an expected 65W?

I know the Dell laptops will usually have a warning for "Low output charger detected" but still continue to charge

          • @cwongtech: Possibly! But I see the Battery draining when it blinks. So I dont think its charging at all!
