Those are some of the highest timings I've seen on DDR4 RAM

      CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX BLACK DDR4, 3600MHZ 16GB 2X8GB DIMM, 20-23-23-43, XMP 2.0, 1.35V, FOR AMD

      OP

    • Yes slightly worse than normal cl16@3200mhz timings, still it does run at XMP 3600mhz which is pretty useful especially for Ryzen.

I think that's called "marketing speed" - everything for that high speed but dont look at the CAS.

Also these post corona low currency prices take some getting used to.

    I remeber buying 2 x 8Gb 3200 for about $110? And 500gb M2 nvme for like $80?

    • About 4 months ago we were running deals like this,

We're trying our best to deliver deals as low priced as possible

      OP

  • Can someone suggest a reason to use m.2 ssd over a 2.5" or 3.5" on a desktop setup?

    • +3

You dont need to connect any cables.
      Less job

      • Ok its been a really long time since I played with desktops. Didn't even occur to me (kinda stupidly) that desktop motherboards had m.2 slots.

          Also speed.

Nvme m2 is on paper faster by several multiplers over even m2 sata.

          • @tonyjzx: This one in the deal was just SATA. I know NVMe because still tinker with laptop m.2's.

            • @ATangk: From my understanding - m.2 Sata and 2.5" Sata III are comparable in speeds, unless you are specifically looking for something that requires m.2 Sata (High end Series 4 intel boards sometimes had these, I have 2! Asus ROG Impact IIV and Asus G751JY), or for an external m.2 Sata Enclosure (sadly most of these are sata only or sata limited), then there is no real reason not to get the NVMe alternatives that are significantly faster, or the standard 2.5" Sata III that are cheaper and easier to source.

If it is not NVME, then you will see no difference in functionality.
