Who doesnt like an old fashioned
Future me, after too many old fashioneds the night before.
I think they meant the other definition
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)@relentless: How do you know that I didn't mean that as well?
@theHMASfriendship: Because you said you don't like them. I assumed hangover.
I have the digital one, I couldn't get the analogue one, but there are advantages, steam and heat and make press stop, adjust the time on the digital one
Can someone explain what this does better than a ~$80 air fryer?
Absolutely Nothing!
In Fact the Aldi and Kmart ones have more features in some cases. These are an absolute rip off
Better build quality and ease of cleaning. But both will yield the same results. The Philips is unfortunately quite a noisy air fryer compared to my generic aldi model.
Quality control for the Philips is terrible despite an RRP of five to eight times what my basically identical clone cost. Plenty of broken Philips ones being thrown out in my council cleanups due to faulty LCDs and electronics. My brother has a Philips, I've had to repair it a few times, and the paint is flaking off the tray.
Meanwhile my $59 air fryer from Coles just keeps kicking on, I think it's nearly eight years old.
Don't buy this, buy a $59 or $89 model from Kogan or Kmart. Try to buy one with an old-school mechanical timer instead of digital controls. Electronics don't like heat, capacitors fail prematurely and these things are very difficult to take apart for repair. If the LCD fails they're basically impossible to repair.
I borrowed my mums Aldi one for 2 weeks and wasnt sold on an airfryer . After seeing it everywhere and on OZB for 3 months
with everyone raving about it I assumed it was maybe the quality of the fryer . Yep it was love my Philips one , I guess until
you have tried both you dont know what your missing out on. Everything just comes out so much better …yep I've had the Aldi one for a couple of years and although it does the job, the Phillips ones do it much better.
Interesting, thanks.
Great for fried icecream
Recipe and directions? Never thought of this one in the airfryer
Recipe or it didn't happen.
Bought it in Dec for $289 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/504216), one of my favorite appliances. Easy to use, love it.
How many does it feed?
I wouldn't use the number of ppl it can feed as a guideline. We can put a whole duck in and made Peking Duck.
Cheers
CHIKO ROLL HEATER FTW
Speaking of AirFryers, this popular beauty is back in stock at Kmart for $89 - 5.3L Anko Air Fryer. Did a lot of research myself and this and Kogan came out on top for the value they present.
Absolutely. I have my Philips Avance XL that I bought 2.5 years ago - back before all these copy models came out on the market. I love it!
…but if I were looking to buy right now, I would 100% buy the Anko model.
Do you mean the Kmart 3 in 1 air fryer? its no longer available.
Thinking about buying this 8.2L Kogan model (https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-82l-digital-low-fat-1800w…). Does anyone know how this compares to the 5.2L Kogan and 5.2K Anko models?
Whoa, seems like a large capacity considering this XXL Philips one is only 1.4L
1.4kg, not L
Isn't this just a smaller version of a fan-forced oven?
No its xxl
Answer correct but reasoning incorrect.
I meant a conventional oven.
Bought this last year… Not worth it IMHO. Most things come out the same as when prepped in an oven. I actually find cleaning the air fryer harder than an oven. Few things come out slightly better than when prepped in an oven.
I'm actually considering selling mine
EXACTLY my experience
yep, I have one of the breville little fan forced bench top ovens, does fan forced like an air fryer, but also single side grill, double side toast, low temp for proving dough , etc.
I think the reason this one and other models from other brands on the market are difficult to compare(sizewise) because philips states capacity in kg where others are in litres. Does anyone know what this would be in litres? just to compare this to rest, sizewise.
The specs from the Philips website suggest that this is 7.2L
I had this one but never used other brand so can't compare. Mine was replaced after almost 1 year being used. The lcd played up when adjusting the timer. I got replacement but now, the drawer kind of doesn't closed properly. It is still working but I think the quality control is not that good. Other than that, I love using it. If this one goes dead, I will buy the cheaper one to compare.
Is there much difference between this and the HD9861/99?
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/508334Is there much difference between this and the HD9861/99?
Yes, the difference is 211/6.
Call me old fashioned, but I prefer my analogue air fryer.
