  • Yay. I got through and bought two. The website is obviously struggling with the extra traffic from OzBargainers.

  • website is down…

  • I ordered one for my HP dv6-3030tx. It has one 4GB ddr3 already either 1066MHz or 1333MHz. At this price I'll roll the dice and cross my fingers they're compatible. Anyone wanna show me the error of my ways?

    • +1

Just quick turn it over and check, obviously taking out the screws :P. I got the 4023TX and has 1x4gb 1333mhz

      • 2stroksmokr, you rock in all the best ways.

But I guess the main question I have is: if I have the 1066MHz, can it handle the addition of the faster clocked 1333MHz?

        • +1

If you have 1033 + 1333 sticks, it will run the 1333 stick at 1033. Don't worry, MHz hardly mean anything, but you will benefit from having more addressable RAM.

        • Thanks cyssero, that's exciting news.

See this air guitar solo? This one's going out to you…

        • +1

Apologies for not answering that section as above what he said +1. Yours does only have 1066MHZ from its spec sheet.

  • This is a good deal but i am still waiting for my desktop RAM to get delivered from the NetPlus special 2 weeks ago.

  • Just got 2 for my mac. hope this works with my macbook pro 2011.

    Thanks.

    • Same here, G15. But i reckon it will work well with Mbp 2011.

  • The T520 from Centrecom comes with 4GB (4GB x1) DDR3 1333MHz

Can I just put one of these in next to it, is it better to replace the one provided with the Kingston sticks?

    • +1

You can probably put one of these next to it but I always like to match my RAM. I've had way to many niggly little issues related to unmatched memory. Since this is so cheap you may as well get the pair and sell your old one on eBay.

      • Agree with this one :) just get the pair then sell the old one

  • …insurance or no insurance… :/

    • Yeah, how come the insurance is 10% of the product value?

  • Hope this matches well with my existing RAM sticks…. 16GB in the lappy, yeehaa :)

  • OK….seems the deal is still valid when I get to the BOTTOM of all the comments!! SO WILL BE ORDERING ONE!!
I guess I am one of those guys following the line-up even though I dont know why I need it for!!

But for $20+2 bucks…..can't go too wrong!! No time for regretting when it's expired or sold out!!

    Quick game-boys!!!

    • That's the true OzBargainer spirit!

  • Hold onto your keyboard Netplus your about to get OzBargained!

  • +2

    I never asked for this.

  • +9

this is so cheap i bought one AND I DON'T EVEN OWN A LAPTOP!

    • That's the way to go!!

Now all u need is wait for the next Laptop OZBARGAIN deal!!

    • So what are you guys gonna do with it?

  • Cracking deal, though I didn't ask for it!

  • I just bought this one. Does anyone know if I can upgrade my Toshiba Satellite L750D/00U(AMD A4-3300M) which I bought from HN deal.

  • Great deal and very nice of Netplus to listen to request for laptop ram. However I have 4Gb already and I don't really need RAM, so though tempted, I shall pass.

  • +1

Mmmhmmm ordered me some o DAT.

    x2 for my MBP 2011.

  • +5

Should we start a forum thread entitled "I bought a 4GB Kingston DDR3 KVR1333 SoDIMM for $20 and can't use it", so that in a weeks time those with incompatible machines who didn't want to miss out can sell them cheap to those who did miss out?

    • +2

i predict the phrase "will this laptop/netbook work with the ddr3 memory stick from Netplus?" will be used more!

  • is the netplus website down , just says service unavailable

    • no…it has been OzBrgained…keep hitting F5… :)

      • Not good though when I have to refresh when submitting the order.

When I reloaded the page, postage shot up to $19

EDIT: started a new browser session, entered the promo code again and delivery back down to $2

        • happened to me, just delete the code and enter again.

  • Soooo tempted….

However, my laptop already has 4GB of Ram and only use ~56% of it…

I guess I'll give this a pass and save the money for a new computer :)

    • +1

      This is wrong man…..
you invest extra $20 to upgrade the RAM….the laptop which you now have (should be still fairly new) should still last you 2 years. But with the extra 4GB ram, now you looking at the laptop to last 3~4 years without getting a new one!

Of coz unless u get attacked by the "TODAYISTHEEND.VIRUS".

      • And of course Windows 8 is on its way - it will be less resource hungry (unlike Vista)
So this upgrade should carry us long…

  • You know, I wonder. Got a netbook that supposedly says it takes 2gb, though if you ask the h/w itself it should take upto 8gb. Wonder if I buy this and it really is limited to 2gb if it'll work as just a 2gb stick. Cheapest 2GB stick is ~$13+delivery…

    • I think that, provided the memory type is compatible (ddr3 1333MHz), your netbook will simply use only what it can. So, effectively "yes, it would still work as a 2gb stick".

But that's what my research told me, I may be (dangerously and categorically) wrong…

      • Hrm… To tempt fate or not to tempt fate… If it's just a window starter software limit it'd be nice to have 4gb under linux.

    • if your netbook say it supports up to 2GB, then if you put an 4GB into it, you may not be able to boot the machine, it won't pass the BIOS checking, so take your own risk on buying the 4GB one

  • Dont have a laptop yet.

Now I need to wait for a great Laptop DEAL TO COME Around. :(

Err just realised the limit was 2 sticks…

    :(

  • GOT MINE THANKS

  • +2

make sure your OS is 64bit or it wont work ( if you will have a 4gb pair )

  • OP are you still fixing your site? It's still down for me… tried everything but not working… >_<

    • Keep trying (refresh), I just ordered 2.

    • No luck after numerous attempts of refreshing… gotta leave this for now, hope there's still stock left… OP plz reserve two for me LOL~

  • Ordered! Thank you! :)

  • -2

sorry for not understanding but what's the promo code?

    • MORERAM

  • Got the accident with the site being OZbargained so paid twice for the order. Called them and got good response. Also, the delivery will take more than a week according to the rep on the phone

    • I've just looked back again and notice its now gone from in stock to on order. I hope they don't make the mistake of trying to sell what they can't get their hands on quickly. Also hope their system knows who purchased when it was in stock.

  • Tried to order several times. On checkout page gives:
    Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

    Type mismatch: '[string: "NSW"]'

    /checkout.asp, line 232

Also delivery is only store pickup.

    But cannot complete order! Pity!

  • I am looking for anyone who has bought the Thinkpad Edge E520 deal (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/52204) and want to buy 2x4GB of this one. I can buy the original memory, or the other way around.

  • can I use this on my hp proliant microserve? Thanks.

    • +1

Whilst you can run it on your lap it's not, actually, a laptop.

  • -1

guys what do i type in for the promo code?

    • -1

      got it thanks jcsantos

  • +1

Great memory. Brought the same memory last week from MSY for $29 for my Thinkpad L420. Missed out on T420 … Windows 7 Memory score goes from 5.9 with 1 x 4GB sodimm to 7.5 with 2 x 4GB sodimm (8GB). Well worth the investment. : )

    • If it works with the L420 is should work with my x220, ty for post.
      I hope it doesn't increase hibernation time…

  • Just called to increase my order from 1 to 2, and they told me it was SOLD OUT.

Not shouting, just bringing that to people's attention.

  • +2

Thanks Netplus, I'm completely broke at the moment but true Ozbargainers can't pass up something like this!

  • hi guys, does anyone know if this ram is compatible to Macbook white 6,1 (Late 2009) or not? I want to upgrade the ram for my gf's laptop :)
ps: this one should work perfectly for macbook pro 8,2 (Early 2011) right ? :-?

    • This is compatible with the 2011 MBP models, but the older ones use 1066 ram.

    • I have a MacBookPro 6,2 and the specs say it takes DDR3 1333.

  • Looks like this is gone now. Web page says "Expired Promo code".

    • Same here, sigh!
the website seems to be dying too, I keep getting Service Unavailable.

      • same here, i guess its expired :(

  • Unknown or expired promotion code??

    • Everything is gone :/
wanna get a set for my gf's laptop but oh well, maybe next time

  • Daughter has a HP Pavillion dv6 3138tx that has 4gb of ddr3 ram. Am I able to add this to it to speed it up for her?
    Thanks in advance.

    • +1

Very unlikely, unless she's doing some serious rendering work that needs large amounts of RAM, having more than 4 gigs is not going to make any noticeable difference to general computing or gaming.

The best upgrade you can do for that notebook is an SSD upgrade, stick in a OCZ Vertex or similar.

  • Can rep confirm this offer is expired?

Oh well… I couldn't think of a reason for needing more than 4GB ram on my laptop which I use for browsing the web and typing word documents anyway.

  • Lot's of people think that upgrading from 4gb to 8gb will give a significant speed increase for casual usage, this isn't the case, is it?

    • Definitely increase the speed for casual usage!!
Faster speed opening up MS OFFICE apps….booting up…shutting down…etc etc.
Doesn't speed up surfing website speed though!!
Like others said, worth investing in more RAM. Future softwares are just more and more RAM-hungry. Just ask Bill Gates.

      • Coool, looking forward to it.

      • +3

For casual usage you don't need more than 4GB of RAM. Even for my main gaming PC, which previously had 8GB of RAM and later downgraded to 4GB, I saw virtually no difference in boot times or even in gaming performance.

For most laptops the bottleneck is the hard disk. Upgrade that to a SSD and you will see a major improvement in boot times, program startup times, load times etc.

      • I think you will NOT notice any difference unless your OS consumes the whole 4GB ram you already have when opening up MS Office or when booting up, which is not the case as Windows 7 or MS Office combined will not use more than %50 (2GB) in worst scenarios. What makes a difference when already having fast and plenty of available RAM is having a faster HD or a SSD.

        • Oh well, it can't hurt to have this, and it's still like 50% cheaper than I've been able to find elsewhere.

Just checked my ram usage and I have 1.3gb free.

    • What the snot are you smoking?!

      • yeah let's neg the deal because we missed out!

        great mentality mate.

    • +1

      You snooze you lose, right?

Anyway there is more stock now…

    • ever heard the saying 'you snooze you lose'?
      beaten by 11 seconds!

  • I want some decent so-dimm DDR3 1600mhz… but no-one has them? erm i really want to throw out my slowww 2x 4gig 1333mhz stuff.

  • For those with an Asus 1015b: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1756133

Apparently someone does have it going with a 4gb stick.

  • Not much noticable speed increase. Somebody said here, he called and the customer care said its sold out.
Also in the tittle "Please note, that the stock is very limited, and judging by last response, would not last long at all!"

    • I said, and yep that's what she told me about 25mins ago.

  • +4

We have managed to sucured more stock! This deal is back on! Once again, it will not last long!!

    • Score! Ordered. Thanks!
anyone wanna buy a 2GB and 1GB stick?!

    • you might want to note if there is going to be a delay in delivery on these as last time MLN couldnt deliver within a few days they got flamed… BAD!

      • I think you will find their attitude also contributed to that roasting.

      • We intend to deliver. It may not be within a day, but there should not be any lenghty delay unless your order is highly complicated

    • HI Rep, some DDR2 deals please

      • If you look on eBay you can get 2GB sticks for about $28 a pop.

    • Hi NetPlus, I've been working my tail off (on the phone and email) to try to add another to the one I already ordered (Order #11091612MD).

      Can you please help?

      • Any issues, we will have to work though by email over the next couple days. But I'm sure we can sort it out.
