This sounds like a great deal but you have not provided enough info. Please put your terms and conditions here. Please tell us your excess usage charges.

• Sorry didn't see this question, excess usage fees after 4gb charged at 20c per mb. We will however call/text you when you are getting close to the 4gb to give you a heads up

• +8

As stated previously, you need to make available your Standard Form of Agreements on your website. You are required by law to make these available to any prospective customer.

• -3

And please tell us you dont use the Vodafone network !!

• +3

It is on Vodafone network as it says in the title

• +1

Can this be used in an iPad?

• +1

If the iPad has a USB port then there shouldn't be a reason why not

• Can't you take the SIM card out and use on an iPad?? (provided you can cut them down to the small size ones that fit in iPad)

• +1

Is it this price every month or is it an introductory offer only?

• +1

Every month, $4, direct debit only, no fixed contract

• +4

$1 per gig sounds tempting. Can't you just post the t&c here, otherwise it looks like you've got something to hide.

• -5

nothing to hide here, for terms and conditions give us a call on 1300 987 132 and we will be sure to answer all of your questions

• +3

can i just have the plan without the modem. I have alot lying around here

• Yup, I'd like to know this also. Need to know more details about the plan(s) as well - I'm assuming the $1 per GB is for the first month only?

• +1

Not first month only, every month with no contract involved

• can i have one (seriously) how much?

• Give us a call on 1300 987 132 and we can get you signed up or we can just chat and go over all the fine print

• No, modem must be included

• My bad rep, wasn't meant to neg you.

• +2

It's really:
$21 - Modem with 1Gb data
up to 3 extra gig for $3 once-off only

So in that light, given that I just bought another $19 USB modem with 4Gb of data on the Optus network, there's no contest.

• -2

in that case they did have something to hide. I am neg voting as well.

• +4

Nothing to hide. $20 fee for the modem. $4 per month thereafter based on 4gb usage. Email billing only. Direct debit only. Excess data usage fee applies. Give us a call on 1300 987 132 to go over any other questions you may have

• +2

If you had nothing to hide you would make available the Standard Form of Agreement documents.

• just to make sure that you missed the small fine print :)

• how did they "hide" that from you? It's clearly stated in the description.

• +1

$20 once off for USB Modem
$1 per month for 1GB per month
$2 per month for 2GB per month
$3 per month for 3GB per month
$4 per month for 4GB per month

• more details otherwise it gets -ve vote

• What would you like to know? Nothing to hide here.

• +3

You have a legal obligation to make available the Standard Form of Agreement documents like every other telco does. Yet you fail to do this.

• Hmm that's a shame… I would've jumped on this deal. Keep trying suretelecom!

• +1

suretelecom rep posting something on OB without Ts&Cs, doesnt look right to me.
Id rather go with the current $39 5GB Voda deal where u get the pocket wifi2 with it.

• same, i want a wifi modem

• the option is available

• +1

@Sydster,
To be fair it's only $4/month for 4GB after first month. How is $39/month for 5GB better?

@Suretelecom,
what modem do we get with this deal? is it 850/2100Mhz or 900/2100Mhz USB modem?

• Supports Dual band 3G UMTS 900/2100 MHZ

• 4GB is $4 per month. Once off $40 payment for pcket Wifi

• so..$20 once off fee for what modem?
then $4 a month for 4gb?

• Thats exactly right, $20 upfront one off payment for the wireless usb modem and $4 per month for 4gb

• +5

Make it a pocket wifi2 instead of USB (charge more for the hardware) and officially release T&C so there is proof of contract details and you got yourself a deal…if not it's just a "you said he said" scenario and when your company charges $1000 to my credit card for 1GB of usage I have no proof of this "deal". Especially if it's not even on the website.

• i concur
make it properly official and give us a modem we want. and ill sign up

• You could always record the voice call with them, and that should be sufficient evidence. Just make sure you get the operator to state their full name.

• +1

The terms and conditions are as stated above in the ad, for any other enquieries in regards to terms and conditions please give us a call. There will be legal contracts involved so there is no need to worry about being ripped off or you getting charged for something you dont use. Before you sign up you will get all of your questions answered if any.

• What Ad? Is a post on Ozbargain considered an Ad?

Can you provide the option for wifi modem? Obviously charge appropriately.

• +3

you have to understand that most of us have commitments dont have the time to call and be put on hold for 30 minutes.
Why don't you just upload the fine print of the terms and conditions and save all of us the time of posting and replying back and forth.

• yes we can do that, give us a call and we will discuss everything.

• +2

I'm not a fan of the Vodafone network, but I also can't figure out why people are against this deal.

$20 USB modem, $4 a month for 4GB for as long as you want, no contract. It's miles ahead of any other SIM based broadband deal I've seen.

Unless there's a "modem will be delivered by man eating tiger" clause in the T&C, I can't see why people are so fussed.

• Well, I understand the confusion to begin with given the lack of details, but now that they've been provided and it's $4 for 4GB per month for every month, that's actually a really good deal. + from me.

• +1

I negged because of the lack of info when this deal was posted. At the current moment the t&c's are still not on the website. I don't know what sort of contract you will get into when you sign up to this on the phone, maybe someone who does can report back.

• Well how would we know whether there is a "modem will be delivered by man eating tiger" if we can't see T&C. Who knows…that could well be in the T&C! hahaha

Other than that I do agree with you.. its excellent value…vodafone network or not.

• +1

no one really needs a modem these days.
You would get more customers if the modem was not compulsary or if it was a wifi modem.
Bear in mind, that nearly all mobile plans , both pre and post paid come with generous data allowances.

• Seeing as this is an ongoing contract….
The big questions are:

1/How quickly does your user data update?
2/ How much is excess data?

+1 for a wifi Modem if you have them.

• He answers question 2 up the top, 20c per MB.

As this is a one-off deal expiring in 5 hours and likely to clear modems, I doubt wifi will be forthcoming.

• And what increments is that data calculated by i.e. per kb or per 100kb or per MB.

• 20 cents per MB excess fee after the 4Gb charged at 1 MB increments

• I'm currently not in Australia and will be returning in 2 weeks time… How can I avail this offer??

• you give us a call now and sign up because we do need to get a voice recording to finalize the contract. I was going to suggest to do it via email but the voice recording is absolutely necessary.

• +1

Calling a 1300 Number from overseas through a mobile would cost me arm and a leg!!! :(

• +2

in that case give us your contact details and we will ring you, please provide us with you overseas contact number with area code etc. and we will ring you straight away

• OK… so excess usage fees after 4GB charged at 20c per MB

That equates to $204.80 per GB after the first 4.

• +2

Which is pretty bog standard for SIM card deals, isn't it? In fact, that's actually cheaper than a lot of them, isn't it?

• I think there are probably stats out there that the Telcos bank on: a % of users going over their limit every month, and then charging massive amounts for that "excess" data. Doesn't cost them a cent more, just a common but dodgy business model we are all used to.
If you stop and look at it for a second, it is outrageous price gouging, similar to Payday loans and other utter rip off schemes.
Live Connected charge even more - pity the poor bugger that goes over the limit with them.

First four GB @ $1 each is great.
$204.80 for the fifth GB is ridiculous.

• Agreed. But it's not really a down side distinct to this deal. It's not some kind of special hidden in the T&C catch.

• Sure, but I think we need to put it out there with all of these deals:
It's kinda like parking tickets… no one ever thinks they are going to get one.

If you are near the end of the month and your kids mess about watching Youtube or download a movie you are going to be spewing.
I think the companies do these deals betting on a certain amount of excess each month.
That's where the profit is.

• 4GB is rather a lot for mobile broadband. Any other mobile broadband service will charge $8+ for even 1GB. If you might need more than 4GB, this probably isn't a good deal for you, but for everyone else this is fantastic value. Having said that, I do agree it'd be best if they published the terms & conditions.

• Deal is good but lacking of T&C, have seen many people asking for it and the rep is not providing it , sounds dodgy, there is no other reason needed for negotiating it unless he put the T7C available for public. Its really simple to put it with the deal info, but he purposefully avoiding it and asking to call..

• +1

Updated the Ad due to multiple requests for T&C's

• +1

Where?

• Thanks for putting up the Wifi modem.

Delivery is free?

• -1

yes delivery is totally free, just the upfront payment of $40 for the modem is required

• +1

"If you would like to discuss this term, please call 1300 987 132 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 1300 987 132 end_of_the_skype_highlighting"

Seeing stuff like this on your website really doesn't inspire confidence in your brand.

Edit: Hmm, doesn't work here. Did not know that. Fixed.

• +3

seems dodgy to me. no specific T&Cs.

• -1

Terms and conditions specified in the ad, if there are futher questions please enquire by calling us

• +1

Refusal to post terms and conditions despite numerous requests from Ozbargain members + dubious posting history = This rep should be banned IMO.

• +4

Repeated requests for T&Cs followed by repeated avoidance to provide them raises some real questions about this company.

• +3

Rep should be banned from here

• Thinking of getting this for Optus MyTab (use the sim only), any thoughts? Are there better options out there? TPG have the $1/mth pay as you go with 50MB included (excess data 2.75¢/MB billed per 100KB) but that is not much data.

• +1

Why not just make it "free", since all the profit comes from the $200/GB excess fees.

I'm thinking of starting a "free" video library. Just 10c/minute late fees per DVD after 24 hours.

• Cancellation fees apply on all services which are in either a 3, 6, 12 or 24 months contracts and also month to month services. All month to month services require a 30 day notice period of leave , once the 30 day period has been served then the service is free to be removed from our network. Should a customer leave a month to month service without providing and serving the 30 days notice then a cancellation fee applies in the form of $99.

• I was about to query that too, if I inform them I want to leave in 30 days, then no cancellation fee. But if I don't inform them it means I am not cancelling, why charge the $99?! It doesn't make sense.

• +1

is this some sort of scam to get your creditcard detail? no posting on the official website, sign on using a phone?? and regardless request for a proper T&C there is no response.

Well if it is too good to be true, it might be is. Mod should ban the Rep

• -1

This is not a scam it is just a really good deal, terms and conditions are all stated in the ad. If there are any questions regarding T&C's please specify on here or give us a ring on 1300 987 132

• If it looks too good to be true, it usually is.

• +2

I'm neg'ing this. Specifically on the rep being so elusive on the T&C's / Standard Form of Agreement. I really wouldn't want to hang on the phone to listen to it(while it's costing me) possibly missing something(in the fine print), where they would be reading it off hard copy which should easily be able to be adapted for the website anyway. If the rep would say, its not on the website but we will have it up there within a couple of days I'd jump at this. Otherwise it is far too dodgy for me.

• -2

It is not on the website because this is a bargain and it only has roughly 3 hours to go, T&C's are stated in the ad above which are amendments. if there are any further doubts please feel free to call us on 1300 987 132 or contact us through our website so we can give you a call to prevent you from spending money on the call

• +2

If I had the time I would report you to ACMA and to the ACCC.

• For all those paranoids out there, it's not a scam. and regarding getting your credit card details there's nothing to worry about, your bank can reverse the charges if something goes wrong.

• Speaking from experience with suretelecom?

or

Sockpuppeting ?

• I'm not Sockpuppeting, it's a great deal, that's why I signed up with them. it's a great way to test Voda's 850Mhz network. what's to lose? $41? so be it. If I don't like their service, I can sell the wifi modem on ebay and get my money back.

• Thank you for your support, our company is based in Parramatta, Sydney and all information is confidential and secure.

• +1

all information is confidential and secure

That's what the King of Nigeria told me in his email too!

• +1

How come your website says the below???

Level 5, Nexus Building
4 Columbia Court
Baulkham Hills
NSW 2153

• +1

very dodgy, long time viewer, first time poster. Just signed up to neg it but can only do it after 30 days. lucky you OP!

• -1

Please state what is negative about this ad?

• +2

I neg it based on:

-Data Charged in 1 MB increments - a rip off
-20 cents per MB excess usage fee - another rip off
-USB Modem $20 upfront payment - what modem?
-Pocket WIFI $40 one off upfront payment - what modem?
-Dodgy T&Cs

"If you would like to discuss this term, please call 1300 987 132 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 1300 987 132 end_of_the_skype_highlighting"

Seems none of you would even read your own T&Cs.
