Is it mouth watering like the first sniff of a vegemite jar?

Any deal that starts off with this, loses me regardless of the value

    Hi Tal,

    A little cheesy yes!

Have never sniffed a vegemite jar….

    Might have to try lol..

Its a good place to eat at and the food is really fantastic.

    • Its a good place to eat at and the food is really fantastic.

      Have you eaten there?

  • Absolutley!

We ate there to make sure that we were satisfied with the food so that our customers would be once they purchase the deal.

    • So how do I know this is a bargain? You haven't mentioned that there is any savings from the normal price?

This seafood platter is $109 in value with a discount of 64% off the normal price.

Wow.. with that horror story on UrbanSpoon and Eatability, you must have a very bad taste man.. Guess i will pass what ever you said is good from now on

    Hmmm….

    Two listings on UrbanSpoon
    60% with no reviews.
58% with bad reviews on the seafood

    Latest reviews on Eatability are:-

"Boyfriend purchased Deal Me! Coupon $39 for Seafood Platter for 2 worth $109.
    Okay here we go -
    1) Seafood Platter was not on the menu,
    2) Had 8pm reservation, but told reservations are no good for a Saturday night, sat at the bar til a table was free (30 mins),
    3) Got served 15 mins later, waiter was uninterested in serving.
    4) Perhaps they were short staffed that night, but the 2 waiters & owner/manager was running around like mad.
    5) Ordered additional entree which we never got
    6) Platter came just shy of an hour later around 9pm. Definitely not $109 worth of seafood.
    7) Told waitress that we hadn't received entree… Nothing happened.
    8) Ambience - very loud inside and the very drunk man @ the bar stumbling around the room annoying people was a nice touch.
    9) Overheard other patrons complaining about food not arriving & problems with their bill.
    10) On the up side the owner gave us a glass of beer each for free.
Wouldn't recommend it, won't be going back either."

"Used a recently purchased Scoopon to check this place out - included dinner for 2 with shared entree of bruschetta, bottle of wine and platter of king prawns, soft shell crab, fish, squid and mussels.

On arrival at the door, we were told to sit wherever and the waitress went her own way. 15 mins later a different waitress passed by and asked if any one was looking after us - no. Telling her I had a scoopon she looked at me like I was crazy - never heard of it. After explaining to her what it was, she had no idea whats included.

In the midst of the conversation with her, another waiter comes along and rudely interupts and speaks over the top of us proclaiming that I need to provide my name and telephone number to cross check the booking - very rude.

After all the commotion, the wine was worse than horrible, the plates and cutlery were dirty, with dishwashing liquid streaked across it and the platter was overly deep fried and did not seem fresh. After 10 minutes of receiving the food we left.

And the Scoopon mentioned this was $49 for food worth $156 - I felt extremely ripped off for pay $49! Stay away and never again!"

Reviews for/on their pizzas seem OK.

Maybe they streaked the plates as a form of culinary artistry ;D

    Not a good deal

Ha ha, good find A3. I guess better stay away from them then.

This is the same picture when they advertising $50 dinner for two with shared entree of bruschetta, bottle of wine and platter of king prawns, soft shell crab, fish, squid and mussels at a dodgy restaurant . We had a horrible experience there, staffs were rude, boss / chef was an as…… no such thing is King prawns, soft shell crab. Wine tase like sh……t. DO NOT GO THERE.

Haven't tried this place myself but have tried around a dozen 'seafood platter' deals and all were not just 'ok' but outright misleading and utterly shithouse (the Scoopon ones being by far the worst offenders). What's the point of using things like this to attract new customers only to treat them like third-class citizens? It's no wonder so many restaurant managers and owners are always crying about how tough it is to run a small business when they do things like this.
