Philips Universal Bluetooth™ Headset (for MP3 or Mobile) - $39.80pp

40

CatchOfTheDay are doing the Philips SHB6100 BlueTooth Headset for the low price of $39.80. Supposedly, the retail price is $299 which makes this a pretty neat bargain.

You can use this headset to wirelessly listen to music from your Bluetooth mobile (if it supports A2DP) or your digital audio player if it supports A2DP too. In addition, you can use it to make and receive calls.

DOES NOT INCLUDE DONGLE TO USE WITH 3.5MM PLAYERS - SORRY, POST CORRECTED

There is a pretty favourable review here: http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2007/04/26/phi… and a pretty funny advertisement for it here (maybe NFSW): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lt1zfvnrq2g.

They are of the neckband style so you can just hang them around your neck when you're not using them. Would be a perfect companion if you managed to snag one of the elusive Samsung T10 8GB MP3 players (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/5223) ;)

Using Buckscoop you can get a 6.05% rebate too.

  • wish shipping was free >< cost 8 bucks ><

i'm this close to buying one ….. dunno if i'll use it though cos i got so many pairs of earphones already ;/

  • The SHB6100 on CatchOfTheDay doesn't include the dongle to attach to your ipod or other audio device. You only get the headset, charger and a user guide.

The SHB6101 comes with a USB Bluetooth adapter
The SHB6102 comes with a 3.5mm Bluetooth audio adapter
The SHB6103 comes with a Bluetooth ipod adapter

  • u gotta be kidding me, i just bought one! >< arghhhhhhhh

can i cancel my order? from COTD?

cyssero change the description please, you can't use this with your ipod etc ><

great! now i have to spend more money getting a BT dongle Just F$@%^ Great!

  • Sorry about that neosin! You can still cancel your order because it is far away from shipping. The cheapest 3.5MM Bluetooth dongle will go for about $30 off eBay, "official" iPod ones will be closer to $40. With that said you can also try selling the Philips unit on eBay, they seem to go for much more than $39.80. I have corrected the original post so hopefully no one else made the mistake. I'm a little disappointed but still a good deal, I'll mainly be using it with my mobile phone and my laptop - just not my Zune now!

    • :( yeh if i can't get a refund from COTD i'll just sell it on ebay
cos i really needed one with the 3.5mm BT dongle ><

  • update:

i found this bluetooth usb dongle on deals extreme http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.83 for less than 6 bucks delivered.

if i buy that i can use the wireless headphones on my pc via A2DP and n95 mobile but won't be able to use it on my old mp3 players ><

not sure if i should keep it or sell it hmmmm any opinions?

    • Since it looks like I got you in this mess, I'd probably say keep it :)

They're worth quite a bit so you've still got a bargain on your hands. That Bluetooth dongle is enough to let you listen to your music without hassle. Your Nokia N95 can be expanded to at least 8GB for not much so it will become a great player. I'm getting mine for my phone and my laptop.

Even try using it for 1 week with your Nokia and see how it goes. If you keep it in good condition you can still sell it and make money. Up to you though!

      • hehe, the only problem is that my n95 drains battery lik crazy with BT enabled, thats why i need the dongle badly cos that uses it's own power and i can get hours more using it.

i sent COTD an email requesting cancellation of my order, if they won't let me i'll have to sell it on ebay :P

oh well won't lose much cept time posting the thing haha

    • That dealextreme is bluetooth adaptor for PCs which dont have bluetooth. It has nothing to do with N95. Your (if cotd not cancels) headphone can be used direct with N95/bluetooth enabled laptops. You need adaptor like http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9677 or http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10582 , but you really missed COTD's earlier sale http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/4480

      • Damn, really did miss the previous sale! The 6102 seems perfect. Oh well, have to wait until they do it again then I'll sell the 6100s (or something like that).

  • Could you use this with the iPhone?

  • these are awesome!!! - i've had one for weeks now (got it from dailydeals for the same price)…

you can pair your computer audio and you mobile phone at the same time, if a call comes through on your mobile it will mute the computer audio and the call will ring in your ears which you can answer by pressing a button on the side of the headphones, and press the button again to hang up.. then it will go back to your computer audio!

iphone - it will work as a phone headset but not audio as they dont do stereo bluetooth.

  • got my refund from COTD :P wish i can get my hands on http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/4480 ><
