I have the non max and honestly one of the best headsets I've owned considering the price.
I would get the max version next time just for the battery life.
Does it really work with Xbox?
Yeah being bluetooth doesnt mean it works with xbox. I'd delve into some good reviews before buying.
It doesn't mention Xbox in the description on Amazon, which is why I asked why it is listed here.
According to rtings.com it does not support xbox at all
The official product page says it does:

My friend picked up a set and cracked after a week!
I had the white one.
Pros: the mic is actually really good, use this for work and people hear me clearly.
Cons: it’s really on the small side. I would say I have an average sized head, the arch bit keep pressing towards my head and makes it uncomfortable for long usage.
how do these compare against likes of Steel series 7 and 5?
I use the HS80 (non Max) version as daily driver for work - ensure to look up comparisons of the HS80 vs HS80 Max - there is a reason the Max go on sale all the time compared to the HS80. There are some differences in features, but for a wireless headset with good microphone, go the non-max version.
The reviews actually seem to be pretty bad - there are reports of the headband cracking.
