Asus with new AMD Zen2 R7 4800H + RTX 2060, 144hz screen, only $1.6k. could round up to about 1.7k with shipping/agent fee if needed.

Massively increased performance all round for $500 cheaper, but no local warranty.

They'll get here eventually, but it's important to point out to the OP (and others who just see a laptop deal and assume it's good value) how low value this Razer series, even against other slim laptops. Nice work!

also 512 GB SSD, vs razer's 128 GB.

    • Wow very nice. That color is awesome too

    • No TB3 sadly.

While I agree with the sentiment here, I think the appeal for the Razer Blade is its thinness (20mm) vs the above (25mm). That's 20%, which is actually quite significant. Yes, yes, 5mm is jack shit, but to many people, the aesthetic of having a thinner phone/tablet/laptop is quite important. Also, the look of it is very muted and simple, rather than the (subjectively) gaudy gamer designs of other laptops with good video cards. I think the Razer overall represents a nice whole package, let down by its high price. I can't say anything about QC or warranty issues since I don't own one, but from a specs/visuals point of view, I can see why Razer chooses to put its price up. Oh yeh, and brand recognition. Believe it or not, there is a target market for that stuff, obviously not towards the informed enthusiasts.

    • Yeah this sort of argument always pops up on ozb, too much raw spec sheet comparison without considering other specifications that some people value. It's I think about 400gm lighter than the asus one noted above too.

If you care you care, if you don't you don't, easy as :D

      • The Ryzen 4000 offerings are also much cooler. I think people would trade something 5mm thickness and 150 grams in weight to not have their bed/lap/desk feel like it's got a heating element strapped to it.

  • is this like a macbook air?

If you can wait, ROG Zephyrus G14 is just around the corner.
