Chicken Breast Fillets $6.99/kg [North Sydney]

130

I saw this as I was walking past this morning. There is another shop nearby selling for $7.99/kg so it seems this may be a local price war. I have no idea how long it will be at this price. Normally $16.99/kg.

From their website: "At Prime Quality Meats we believe in choosing natural products, that's why all our meat is antibiotic & hormone growth promotant free. We also offer an extensive range of organic, free range & gluten free products."

Prime Quality Meats shop is located in Greenwood Plaza Shop M05 on Metro level, near the entrance from North Sydney Station.
They were even happy to cut my order into strips for no extra charge.
Greenwood Plaza Advantage Club members can receive an additional 10% off by showing their card.

Free parking for 1 hour when you make a purchase of $5 or more and have your parking ticket stamped.

There are other stores in this chain, but I do not know if this price is common at all stores or not.

    with or without skin ?

    • At that price my guess is with skin.

  • i think with skin, it's still a good deal…. although i think if you really want to save $, get a whole chicken and debone it… it's really cheap.

  • Without skin.

  • We have that price without skin for months now in Top Ryde. The shop is just before Woolworths' entrance.

    • Its called Pryde Meats and I got skinless chicken breast there on the weekend for $5.99 kg!
And its La Lonica chicken which is hormone/chemical free.
Probably worthy of its own post

  • Good price but been at this price in North Sydney for months.

Well, it is about time it made it to OzBargain then! :)
It will stop me buying chicken breast/tenders/chunks at Aldi for $13.99/kg or $9.99/kg in bulk pack.

Well good enough reason for me to pack up and move to North Sydney. Look out.

what a price, woolies in the city like to charge $14+ a kilo

  • woolies in Melbourne charge only $8.99/kg in the butcher section

  • Most Woolies in my area charge $7.99/kg in the Deli section. Hornsby store in Sydney pretty much constantly have it at that price and Cherrybrook was the same yesterday when I went in.

They have been at that price for months at my local shop (Harris Farm Baulkham Hills, Red Lea Castle Towers). Not a bargain for me.

    • however, not a reason to neg.

I CAN ONLY THINK OF THE QUALITY OF BIRDS THEY ARE AQUIRING TO SELL AT 6.99$ KILO. PROBABLY MASS SLAUGHTERED, HALF EM SICK AND INJURED, THEY WOULDNT EVEN KNOW. HAPPY EATING! YUK. BLOOD AND BRUSED FLESH USUALLY A GIVE AWAY

    • relax mate.. they have it with such a price in many location. not upscale butcher but in many place in western sydney, that sounds about right

      • next time u get 6.99 kilo chicken, cut through each breast.. ull definately find atleast 1 or 2 with blood and bruses.. im not a vegetarian, quite the oposite but you definately get what you pay for in these cases. id atleast look for free range chicken, atleast they have more of a chance of being healthy when they are zapped

free range chicken "bullshit". Killing is killing . It doesn't make it right by letting them roam free or in a cage if they are still to be killed.

Either stop killing fullstop or keep shut.

PS: i got them for $6.99 at my local Red Lea and they are so not bruised. Damn now that makes me feel better. I'll probably "slow" cook it.

        • It doesn't make it right by letting them roam free or in a cage if they are still to be killed.

          what a ridiculous argument…

we all die anyway, so based on your logic, why should we have a good time during our lives since we are going to die ???

        • Becos JV killing is different to dying. Would it be any nicer if a murderer would bath you, feed you, allow you watch some TV before killing you or lock you in a dark room and then kill you. Can u justify either.

    • tell me which animal that you ate this year that isn't factory/mass slaughtered?
