They used to charge you joining fees to go on a plan? WTF
its to discourage people joining once they are broken down on side of the road essentially cheating the system, every independant tower/roadside mechanic would go out of business if NRMA didnt have a joining fee. there is also a 48 hour period you cant use it after joining i am pretty sure
From memory that is $150 joining fee only payable if require call out same day.

Was a lapsed NRMA member of well over a year. Premium Care costs $204 if paid for the year. As a returning member, armed with this offer, I was accepted back with an immediate 25% reduction on the $204 because of past membership, plus the waiver of the joining fee.
It is still too expensive at full price but for now I'm happy to have re-joined.
how did you manage to get returning member discount?
Buy a shit van like the backpackers do and have the NRMA to rely on to rescue your sorry ass every other day or week while you tour around.

Insurance company promoting their product when least needed nor likely to be utilised. Lame.
