  • Available in UHD on Disney+, in case anyone was thinking of subscribing (thanks to a certain virus creating more time for worship of the idiot panel).

    • No idea why you're getting negged for this info.

      • not a really a great movie, probably killed off any hope of more spin-off movies. good price though.

        • I thought it was pretty good, I didn't think it was cast particularly well but I did enjoy it.

        • There’ll be more. Rogue One pulled 1 billion dollars.

Solo had a few issues. The primary was it wasn’t a great film, but it also had the disadvantage of coming after The Last Jedi which left a bad taste in many peoples mouths and it did so after only a 6 month break between that predecessor. I think people were fatigued, particularly coming off a polarising film, and they should have delayed the release for the November/December holidays where every other recent Star Wars film had released.

          • @Smigit: Didn't mind it too much, as long as you didn't have high expectations.

            • @congo: Agree. I didn't mind it too much either, which is more than I can say for TFA and TLJ. (Haven't even bothered to see the final one yet.)

          • @Smigit: For me and perhaps also for many other people (whether consciously or subconsciously), the real weakness of Solo was that it was not the origin story people wanted/expected. It revealed very little about the character, how he came to be who he is, and his training and experiences as a pilot.

Without addressing those key aspects it would never be a great success, even if it was free of the numerous other weaknesses that plagued the end product. But if it had served up what people really wanted to know about the character then it could have been as popular as Rogue One.

It's OzBargain: some negs expected, but inexplicable.

When I see the title art for this film, I get thirsty.

    • You’ve got to work it hard…
