  • Rep please I have got a friend trying to buy using zippay and he cannot get.when pressed payment on zippay page the website keeps doing a looping and expiring after few minutes.

      Message this user: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/275049
They are also very responsive on Facebook message

      • Thx

    • Is it our website or Zip's looping?

      • Zip.

        • +4

Tricky. You/ your friend might need to get in touch with them directly tomorrow. We've had zip orders come through today. It's their platform unfortunately but i can put pressure on if needed. Let me know how you go via PM.

Hi, There seems to be a pricing error for the Ryzen 7 3700X | RTX 2080 Super Gaming.. Upgrading 2080 super to 2080 super ventus website lists $89.00 but once added to cart and at checkout it shows as $159.00?

    • +6

Hi, its not an error unfortunately. MSI pricing has gone through the roof compared to Galax. It's an option but not worth it.

  • Considering the xbox series X is going to be similar to the $1888 configuration in cpu and gfx power, I wonder how the hell they're going to price it decently enough for people to buy as a console.

    • ill believe it when it happens

    • +6

Considering it'll likely be $499 or more USD, I'm expecting $800-1000 AUD pricing here considering how bad the dollar is and likely will be come oct/nov.

Although to answer the question in the general case, there tend to be razor thin margins on console hardware sold to consumers (sometimes small losses) because they're subsidized by game and service revenue.

      • +6

        That's still pretty crazy value

  • hey luke, any delays happening due to the virus?

    • +3

There have been yes, but not with these comppnents thus far. Cant promise there won't be given all that's going on, but this is the world for now.

  • +2

Same spec as above, with Ryzen 5 3500X and RX 5700 8GB.

Might want to clarify the different case, as suggested earlier in the post.

    • Yes pls OP or Luke can you clarify?

The website listing doesn't help either. There are 2 sets of choices - one in line with the listing above 750W PSU/Leaper Pro case and another one with 550W/Leaper Mid.

      • The case on the 3500X / 5700 is indeed different, it's the Leaper Flair or Mid. It does say in the post that the H18 is only being used for 2080 Super, but it could be clearer, sure.

    • There was also a duplicate listing applied. Fixed now.

  • +3

If only you sell just the GPU :(

  • +5

What happened to 3200MHz RAM, 1TB HDD and NVME SSD? Out of stock?

    • +8

true that, after the last comparable deal, this looks a bit sad :) you forgot to mention the B450 m/b and gold PSU too

      • +5

I was about to buy the last one but now I am not sure. If they bring back the previous offer I would definitely buy!

        • well yeah, that was a cracking deal, that finally convinced 1 of my mates to pull the trigger

        • +5

Same mate! I was hoping for them to bring back that deal… can't bring myself to buy knowing how good the last one was.

      • Some of the upgrades are more expensive, but at least they're not longer sticking 2080 supers inside those Leaper cases, thus this system would perform a lot better and be more durable.

    • Suppliers have jacked pricing due to exchange rate and availability. That pricing was exceptional a couple of weeks ago, but completely unattainable now. This is the absolute best price we can offer for these specs as they are, albeit lower than previously. That won't be available for a very, very long time.

  • I purchased the 3500X 5700 build exactly the same as this in December and can say that it's a great value. It came with an MSI MECH 5700 and a Thermaltake Litepower Gen2 750W PSU. Only problem would be the 2666Mhz RAM which is not great for Ryzen but at $999 I can't really complain.

    • +6

Why didn't you spend the extra $29 to upgrade the RAM?

      • Because I'm stupid, I managed to tighten to CL16 which is a bit better than the default CL20 but it's still 2666. By the way the 3500x is a bottleneck on anything higher than than a 1660 Ti so I'll probably go to a 3700x.

        • "the 3500x is a bottleneck on anything higher than than a 1660 Ti"

Is this due to personal experience or from a source online? This website seems to say otherwise https://pc-builds.com/calculator/Ryzen_5_3500X/GeForce_RTX_2…

          • @F1ProjectOne: That calculator is BS. I just check the 3700x with 5700 and it told me there is a 50% bottleneck!

I came to this conclusion from personal experience because there a few games that max out the CPU at 1080p and don't deliver the performance they should. There's a video from Hardware Unboxed about the 3500x and I think he tests it on a 2080 and it's worse than or equal to the Ryzen 5 1600 in MT workloads (including CPU heavy games).

    • +1

how much was it back then?

      • +1

$978 + $29 shipping which is $1007 total. It came after 2 weeks but for the value it was worth the wait.

  • Please restock 144hz monitors

  • +1

Hey Luke, I got in on the last 2080S + 3700X deal, but hasn't shipped yet. Anything I can do to get the Termaltake case instead of the Leaper? Cheers.

  • Any reason why i cant choose a different case for the 3500x deal?

    • I would guess due to the limited supply of cases, the cases with better airflow are reserved for systems with the 2080 or faster cards.

  • Ah please sell me the gtx 2080 just alone ahhhh

  • any 2060s or 2070s deal?

    • They don't really do 2060S and more so RX 5700 but the 2070S does come up every so often.

    • 2070 Super went really well last time, but were delayed. We have them in now, but only enough to fill existing orders for now. When more supply becomes available we will offer them again. 2060 S hasn't been popular or available.

      • Hi Luke,

I purchased a system on 16th of March and order still says unfulfilled. Will this change when it get shipped? How long would I expect this from when I ordered it on the 16th of March.

        Thanks

        • Yes, your order will be marked as fulfilled when it has been dispatched and you'll receive a tracking number. We are currently working on estimated 10 to 14 business day turnarounds so I would expect your system to ship sometime in the week of March 30.

  • Hi OP, long time viewer but junior poster here :) …. just checking, are there any plans for an I7 or an i5 deals soon?

  • I would love to get someone’s opinion on techfast directly? Even if they private message me so as not to create issues in here. Have read plenty about refurbished/second hand parts, lots of reviews on damaged in transit or before hand, rigs being put together poorly with visual evidence, no name parts that create problems (especially psu) etc. their prices seem awfully low, so these points wouldn’t surprise me at all.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I just ordered a 3500X/5700 PC. Looking forward to receiving it!

    • Did you pay the RRP price of $1249?

      • I used the code listed above, which made it 999. Looks like they're out of stock now though.

  • why is it $50 to upgrade RAM speed to 3200MHz lol

    • That is just how TechFast's business model works. They have incredibly cheap base computers (probably because they're getting those parts really cheap). Then any modifications are more expensive than the difference in price between those particular parts would usually be. So you pay extra according to how different you want to have things from the base set-up.

  • I am looking at the Ryzen 7 3700X | RTX 2080 super
Are any of the upgrades worth getting? or just running stock

    Thank you

    • You'll prob have to replace the CPU cooler, motherboard, ram and SSD to get the best performance out of the 3700X and 2080. I'd also replace the Case a well to improve airflow

If you don't want to do this yourself then you'll need to look at the upgrades

      • I don't mind upgrading those but cost wise would be worth it? I'm curious if these builds can be morphed into an SFF build

        • no there isn't a SSF case on offer. You'll need to get a smaller MB and Case as well as PS if you wanted to build ITX etc… how small did you want to go any ways?

          • @connico: Yeah I figured, since you said the cpu coolor and mobo have to be replaced either ways I thought it's worth a look. Quite like the Silverstone SG13 but will probably have to do my due diligence to make sure the gpu fits etc.

If I do replace the parts, are the old parts easy to offload on gumtree etc?

            • @penguinswillrise: You might find it hard to offload the motherboard as the biostar brand isn't well known or well regarded. PSU might also be a problem.

Case may be easy enough if goes for cheap.. you'd be keeping the rest

I like the SG13.. you'll have to find out when you receive the GPU, not sure what it is and its specs / dimensions.

I personally like the Fractal Design Core 500

              • @connico: Rough, don't really wanna have bunch of parts laying around. Considering I'm in no rush for a system I might just wait out to see if better prices for individual components surface.

Delved into the world of SFF much more and I'm now actually leaning towards a Ghost S1 clone from China.

  • Why is it more expensive than this previous deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/522573

    Same price, worst specs.

    • AUD/USD exchange rate dropped 8-10% since then. Component prices are increasing too.

  • Anyone receiving shipping information yet for this run of PCs?

    • I ordered mine on the 20th March and still haven't heard anything yet. The app to track the order only says 'Order Confirmed'.

      • My 21/3/2020 order says: Fulfillment Status: unfulfilled

      • 26th March here.. might be a while then

      • You get your shipping details yet mate?

  • What are the current shipping times on these?

I am thinking of selling my gaming laptop and buying a desktop. Getting throttling on the laptop even though I've undervolted and replaced the paste. It's better now but I realize I should have just gotten a desktop in the first place.

Does anyone know if upgrading the motherboard provides any necessary benefits to someone not planning on overclocking?

I am thinking of getting the 3600 + 2080 super with the ram upgrade to 3200mhz and 2tb hdd upgrade. Will this be good for ultra 1080p gaming? Is the cpu going to act as a limiting reagent?

    • +1

Previous order for work was under 10 days, this order is looking more like 3 to 4 weeks. Considering my local PLE are out of stock on lots of items, I was happy to wait for this.
The HDD will slow everything down, only go for HDD for storage and non gaming programs. Your OS and gaming programs need to run from a SSD or NVMe. I would suggest a smaller (240gb is ok, 480gb better) OS drive and then a 480-1000gb gaming drive, and whatever hdd storage you want.
I'm not sure if there is any difference between nvme and sdd as the OS drive?

    • +1

      3600 won't bottleneck the 2080S

The default board on paper looks fine but I would upgrade it anyways just do you can get support for the next CPU. In addition you might want to pickup another 2080S in the future to SLI

In addition the default PSU should be upgraded or replaced.. its going to be some yumcha brand and not worth the metal box it was encased in

Other than that 1080P gaming this machine will run ultra all day long

      • Yes, you probably get more CPU support on the B450, but who really does CPU upgrades these days? In 2 or 3 years when you might want to, you'll find other things like RAM will be needing upgrades and it will probably be cheaper to buy the new type ram etc etc..

And i would be wary on giving people advice to SLI with B350 or B450, as far as I know they only did crossfire (AMD GPUs), and not SLI (NVidia GPUs). Don't you need a X470 chipset to do SLI?

        • x370, x470 and x570

          • @connico: and these systems are B350 or you suggest upgrading to the B450..neither of which will do SLI?

            • @AJW: Where in my post did i suggest upgrading to a B450?

I said "The default board on paper looks fine but I would upgrade it anyways just do you can get support for the next CPU". Which means upgrade the board…. didn't say to which one…

              Regards

              • @connico: Ahhh ok, at least we have clarified - you would need a $270 mobo upgrade to the X570 to do SLI

                • @AJW: Correct as the x470 is no longer available on thier upgrade listings.

You can do what I'm doing, i'm going to part out the system and build something more customised :)

      • Thanks guys

I sold my laptop for a profit (ozbargainer for the win) and have bought the 3500x with upgraded 480gb ssd + 3200mhz ram. I'll change out the psu myself if I feel it's not up to the task.

Excited! I reckon it'll be likely end May til I get it but I'm ok with that.

I got my startrack details mid Yesterday and just got a message for delivery tomorrow. Techfast is now using couriers instead of AusPost due to the congestion being experienced at AustPost facilities. 3 day turn around from ADL to Sydney is not bad

          • @connico: How long was turnaround time from order you shipment?

I didn’t bother with a motherboard upgrade as I figure sli isn’t worth it and the 450 doesn’t seem to have much advantage. I couldn’t justify so much more $$ on the higher end boards. I’ll change out the motherboard and cpu in a few years. I reckon when there’s something decent out. Seems amd is starting to push intel so we may see some competitive growth in the cpu market the next few years.

          • @connico: I got my startrack details on the 15 April saying expect delivery (to Perth) on the 21st. However it still shows as being in Adelaide 9 days later. Rang Startrack and launched an investigation on 22nd, but they haven't got back to me yet. Website and phones just say to expect long delays…good luck with 3 days

            • @AJW: Just to update - Startrack are delivering through AusPost, and all AusPost can say is it is "on it's way".

  • +1

Luke 3500X-2080S-B350-MAR is showing $1628 not $1588 as per your offer. @luketechfast

  • Can someone explain to me how techfast deals work? I've been looking to build my own system only to see techfast pop up here once in a while with killer prices for the same specs (albeit not the best looking case). Can I just get one of their systems and supply my own case?

    • You can buy the system and just reinstall the parts in a new case… bin the case that came with it. Don't think anyone would buy it on its own lol

In addition you can upgrade the case as you go to purchase to something you like. There is a limited range of cases though.

      • Yeah I've been thinking of an itx build but it seems like the ones they offer will probably not be compatible with a SFF. I haven't built one in a while, is their original price for the systems (eg. 3700-2080 for $2.2k) cheaper compared to building the same specs yourself?

        • The video card and cpu alone is value for money.. check the prices for a 3700 and 2080 and you'll see why these prices are a bargain…

  • Interested in

    Ryzen 5 3600 | RTX 2080 Super Gaming PC - w/ a MOBO upgrade to the b450.

@luke What brand should I expect for the GPU, Ram & motherboard st the moment?

Ps. I purchased a previous 1660TI build & loving it, no problems.. buttery smooth.. just wanting to jump into the land of ray tracing

    • Standard GPU are most likely Galax or you can upgrade to MSI Ventus, and the B350/450 mobos are biostar.
      The RAM I got was Team T-Force Night Hawk RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz DDR4 Desktop RAM - Black :)

  • Whats the best setup with a budget of 1800 for gaming /streaming?

    Cheers
    Matt

    • Possibly the top option in this post (cheaper one) with upgrade to 32GB 3200 ram, and a NVME or SSD for boot and gaming drives, and maybe add on cooling upgrade if you need it. Then you need a 144hz monitor to run it with :)

So quick review of ordering with Techfast. Note this order came at the height of the COVID period.

Ordered the Ryzen 5 3500X | RTX 2080 Super Gaming PC with a Ram upgrade (3200) on the 30th March. Got confirmation as soon as I paid.

Upgraded to 3600 Ryzen from the 3500X after reading some reviews and looking at bench marks on the 2nd april. This took a couple messages on OZBargain to Luke from Techfast. All enquiries were responded to within a few hours.

Follow up inquiries on the 13th and 21st april with regards to the order. All enquiries were responded to within a few hours.

Received shipping information received on the 22nd April. Startrack first missed delivery on the 24th April, which I had redirected to my home instead of office.

PC booted up first time after a quick inspection. Build quality was good. PC was shipped with airbags to protect parts. Video card was supported from shroud with spacers. Cable management was good which resulted in a good clean build. Back of PC cables cable tied to cable points. Only issue was that the GPU clip was missing from the board. So had to take out the card and look for it. It was lodged in the card heat pipes. Must of came off during transit. Otherwise could not complain about the build.

I've had no issues communicating with techfast when i needed to and the product was as expected. Upgraded ram was XPG GAMMIX D10 DDR4. PSU was Allied yumcha psu which was replaced with a Corsair RM850 even before bootup.

    • I have tried the same thing - upgrading the cpu from 3500x to 3600 and support denied my request. I messaged Luke 5 days ago and haven’t received a response. Ordered 7 days ago.

Do you have pics of the pc and cable management?

Which 2080 did you get and what is the motherboard?

      • +1

        GPU - MSI 2080S Ventus
        Motherboard - Gigabyte B450M H (upgraded)
Ill upload the pictures I had of the origional build, its all changed now since I did a significant upgrade with PSU, CPU Coolier, Motherboard, HDDs and case fans

        • Cool thanks mate

          • @blergmonkeys: Also send Luke a message about your issues with upgrade etc

            • @connico: Yeah I’ve messaged him twice now over the course of a week. No reply.

            • @connico: Just an update for anyone reading this - Luke got back to me and I was able to upgrade no issue.
