Pretty good price for a second generation LED maglite in aus.

Amazon is USD$26.85, with shipping of about $15, which is a bit more expensive than this.

Shipping for me (2614) was $8.80

EDIT:EDIT: This is the third generation magled, which uses a cree XPE LED. This is more efficient, brighter and throws further than the second generation. The pictures on the big buys website still show the 2nd generation.

      But any intruder will just laugh at me if I hit em in the head with a AA torch.
      At least with a maglight there's a good chance of concussion/mild brain hemorrhaging.

    Hi everyone, a special thanks to sweefu for posting this deal and oztrez for taking an active interest. I finally made an account to post this (longtime lurker). I was one of the lucky ones who got one. And I only bought one, not being greedy to get two or three - to spread the love to others.

    To reconfirm: it is 3rd gen, with the cree LED, marked 484 on the bulb. There's also some changes - I didn't get an incandescent spare bulb in the tail cap, and it doesn't look like the LED module is removable (as prev gen Luxeon LED ones apparently are). Also the serial number on the barrel is much more visible compared with my 3D Mag incan of old - it's brown etched instead of just etched and anodised over like the rest of the body.

    Does anyone know if the LED module is regulated, or can be modded somehow? eg my older Mag3D incan has a modified tailcap spring and runs 4C cells, which drives the bulb 33% overvolted. Still renders an instrument that size as a percussive weapon first and illumination tool second though…

    Got mine, geeze, HN Big buys is freaking awesome, much better than other "catch" sites ;) Super quick delivery (would have been overnight if was shipped before friday) and shipped the day after purchase, not 4 weeks later.

    Torch is amazing too! Picked up 4xDuracell D Batteries from KMART for $10. The beam it throws is monster!!!
