But is this a bargain? What is the normal price?

    • +1

You are right it's not a deal that's a regular price

So $51 less, torch instead sander, bonus USB charger?
Can we confirm the sizes of the batteries included in each pack?

        • the old 600 pack had USB charger too

I'm surprised they didn't try to count the batteries and charger as individual 'pieces' also

        • +2

Batteries are the same, 1x2.5 and 1x4

You can buy one separately for $51 and have both.

        • +10

A sander would be a lot more useful than a torch you can get for $2 from ali express.

          It's also a 10mm drill instead of 13mm.. and a 150mm saw instead of 165mm.

I think the other pack is better, albeit more expensive.

  • +4

oh yay…. a shitty torch instead of the detail sander

    • +4

I use the torch a lot more often than the sander. A freestanding worklight often makes the job easier.

      • Any magnets or hooks on the torch unit? Or do you just stand it up

  • +1

The batteries that are included are 2.5ah and 4ah.

  • -4

lol who the hell needs a torch

    • those who work in a garage

Tell me you don't do DIY handy work without telling me you don't do DIY handy work.

      • -6

I’ll get downvoted for this but

Anyone doing real handy work isnt buying ozito

Haha just stirring the pot. I have ozito tools at home

        • +1

i work with professionals in the field

many are not all that loyal to a brand… one guy i know uses dewalt but supplements it with oztios

eg. if you're installing a kitchen which is usually a $10k+ ask then in many cases you do not need dewalt grade tools

when i was helping him i used those Ozitos lights to illuminate when he was installing the cabinets - hitting them pilot holes, under sink features etc.

and so of course, anyone who's done any work uses these

i've used these ozitios torches to knock up ikea furniture and 'gaming' desks

you can use a mobile phone light but that's kinda shit

          • @tonyjzx: Yeah fair points. i been tempted a few times with the dirt low price of new ozito cordless stuff.

But i have a dewalt of everything i need already and the Dewalts (drills/impact drivers) go so much harder. They all come with a built in light nowadays too. The extra grunt is something i need personally for the kind of work i do- external work, roof work , sheet metal, etc.

The ozito stuff that i still use after 10 years- are the ozito shop vac and the ozito drill press.

For me nowadays if i need to substitute a cheaper tool- power gardening for example - i often go ryobi. 3 to 5 year warranty if im not mistaken and their batteries still the same shape after 20 years so that helps a lot

    • +1

I made the mistake of buying a couple of ryobi ones… I never use them

  • +1

Torch is a strange one, just to fluff the value imo. Think i'd rather pay the extra $50 to get the colonel sanders.

  • I almost bought the kit with the sander because I needed the saw and impact driver but realised I would almost never use the sander and angle grinder so just got the two skins separately. May have bought that at this price of it had a light which I would find quite useful.

    • Sucks to have a smaller drill and saw though.

  • Does the link work anymore?

    • yes, try changing store maybe?

    • +1

Strangely, the link works if I turn off Javascript (I use a Firefox addon called "NoScript" which disables Javascript in new tabs by default), but it returns the usual 404 Not Found error when I turn Javascript on.

      • Thanks, I found possibly it isn't available in WA since visiting with the Incognito browser opened up the page but after logging in redirected me to 404 as the location is set to WA.

  • It (still) blows my mind that for the same price as one tradesman quality (yellow or blue) tool, you can get 6 pieces of this.

Good (enough) for the now and then jobs around the house.

When i was first starting i bought a lot of ozito stuff. Mostly replaced with more powerful things now, but a couple of them still get used more than 10 years later.

    • +1

      the warranty is solid too

that's why bunnings and ozito is good even for full price

      • Yeah for light work the ozitos are a good deal

      • +1

Recently returned a nearly 3yo impact wrench that has been to hell and back. Returned and swapped within minutes. Too easy.

  • Can anyone recommend drill bits?

    • +3

      Yes I’ve used drill bits before , they’re very good ! 👍🏼

      • Me too definitely used a few good ones

    • +1

Drillbit Taylor was a good movie, pretty funny.

  • +1

give it a few weeks, it will go on sale.

im going to assume at this price that these aren't brushless. please say if it is brushed or brushless.

  • +1

5 year warranty is like free tools for 5 years, i bought this kit (sander) 3 years ago and have found all the tools to be great, grinder died last month after maybe 300 hours of use and got a free replacement no questions asked.

    • Did u have to provide a receipt? Ive got a dead vattery but cant find the receipt

      • Yep i did have the receipt cos there was no way all 5 tools would last 5 years..

  • Will the grinder do the job? I.e. SHS, reo…

  • +4

This one looks like it comes with the rubbish 10mm chuck drill, rather than the old kit which had the 13mm chuck Hammer Drill :(
And 150mm Circular Saw rather than the 165mm

I wish Ozito sold a higher priced combo kit that included some of their more decent brushless stuff…

    • Yes, 10mm chuck drill is very crap

  • Are the impact driver and drill brushless?

  • What would happen if one of the tools gets wrecked? Do i have to return the whole kit to get a replacement or do they replace just that tool?

    • Replaced just that tool.

  • Seems like this battery / charger pack is on sale as well

    Ozito PXC 18V 2.5Ah Battery and Charger PXBC-25B - Kit $25

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-2-5ah-battery-and-…

  • As someone that does a bunch of mechanical work, I just wish they’d do a decent discount on their 1/2” impact wrenches
