Coconut oil & milk are high in saturated fats (87g/21g per 100g), and so are liable to raise LDL cholesterol.
There's a reason Malaysia (6.7%) and Singapore (4.5%) have a dramatically higher incidence rate of heart failure, than that of China (1.3%), despite hypertension being less prevalent.

The first references -observational- evidence regarding -coconut flesh- and -squeezed coconut-, not coconut oil, which is as much coconut flesh as HFCS is corn flesh.
Just after such, it states: "Overall, the weight of the evidence from intervention studies to date suggests that replacing coconut oil with cis unsaturated fats would alter blood lipid profiles in a manner consistent with a reduction in risk factors for cardiovascular disease."
If you were to read the conclusion at the end, it states:
"it suggests that coconut oil, when compared with cis unsaturated plant oils, raises total cholesterol, HDL-C, and LDL-C, although not as much as butter does."
and
"Therefore, this review does not support popular claims purporting that coconut oil is a healthy oil in terms of reducing the risk of CVD."
Many people are under the impression that it's healthy, which is why they go for the natural, organic angle, to target those people.
Sugar intake over the RDI is also unhealthy, of course, but few would be touting it as a healthy component to include in food, or to cook with.
Don't know why you'd phrase it as "apparent concern", as if I'm some sugar plantation fat-cat, trying to distract people from one unhealthy thing by pointing out another.
