Apple TV 4K 32GB $227 C&C /+ Delivery @ Harvey Norman ($215.65 P/M @ OW)

200

Got an alert through price hipster this morning that the 32gb AppleTV 4K had dropped to $227. Officeworks are still showing as $246 so I got a price beat there bringing down to $215.65. RRP $249.

According to macrumours an updated version is being released very soon.

    • Correct Apple TV Gen X or something…

Yeah bring on the Apple TV Gen X 2000 Turbo and RIP the Apple TV Boomer.

    • While a new Apple TV is undoubtedly going to come out soon, I do wonder what it can possibly offer in terms of hardware

The current model does 4K HDR which is more than my current TV can handle (and I don't feel like buying an HDR TV just yet.)

      • Maybe a A12 or A12x for gaming since they are pushing the Apple Arcade and the current A10 is showing it's age.

Thanks mate. Was going to buy for $239 yesterday. Lucky I held off, just got it from officeworks.

  • I regret getting this thing as I couldn't wait for the new nVidia Shield. Apple TV is next to useless imho. There's no good shows with the free Apple TV subscription and the apps are nothing special.

It's a over priced Apple branded chromecast now

Each to their own; I held out for a long while before picking one up a few weeks back on sale at Good Guys, but I'm really impressed with it.

I'd agree that the content is severely lacking in the Apple TV+ subscription compared to the other services but I've enjoyed a couple of shows on it (e.g. For All Mankind).

The main thing that impressed me was the integration between all the streaming apps, e.g. use the Siri voice search via the remote to find a particular show without knowing which provider, features like asking "what did he say" that automatically rewinds the show and turns on subtitles, the integration with my iPhone for entering text on screen rather than using the remote, etc.

All in all, a very slick experience compared to various Android and Kodi setups I've seen. Must admit I haven't tried the nVidia Shield but having an iPhone swung me towards the ATV.

  • Nowadays we have apple tv app on samsung andLG tv and on roku and amazon fire stick, Do we actually need the apple tv?

  • Guys all I want is to watch Disney plus and Netflix , does the amazon fire stick have that?
I don’t want a Chromecast, I just want everything from the one device.
    $200+ is a bit steep
