Title should be changed to Bingo, not Dingo

      Lol woops :)

Love blue but not gonna lie, this seems expensive for two plush toys

    • +4

      It doesn't seem. It is.

$26 for a branded and popular plush toy is expensive? Can I live on your planet?

      • I agree. They are 40-45cm tall so they're no 20cm teddies. I think $26 is reasonable for these. They'll probably get another surge of popularity when the stage show (Bluey's Big Show) tour begins, starting in Brisbane May 29th.

Branded and popular but at the lower end of material durability.

The build quality doesn't look as robust as a soon to be well loved doll would need to be in my house for example.

Doesn't look like it would survive more than 5 runs in the washing machine etc.

My planet is your planet and we don't need more landfill for what may only be a fistfull of moments enjoyed.

        • What are these robust >5 wash plushies you speak of and why are they being washed so much?

          • +4

@King Steuart: I have a weird feeling i'm not the only parent who has to wash fabric toys when they are spewed on

Anything with rigid cotton survives a good wash and plenty of toys are made thatbway

They are a decent size. $35 each is what you'll pay at Kmart, Big W etc so $52 for both is decent.

What got me with the whole Bluey thing was the Bonds range. That was literally a licence to print money and they only did a tiny batch of one off stuff that pretty much sold out within hours.

    • I think I read that the BBC have all the rights to the merchandise too? So the ABC and show creators don't get any of the money… (Could be wrong though.)

      • That stinks if true.

It's extremely expensive considering scout from leapfrog is programmable, talks, plays songs, lights up, learns your child's name and is educational.

    Just fifty two dollarbucks?

  • +4

I'm going to buy my daughter Sharalandah one!

    • +3

      Sharalandah? Who’s Sharalandah?

  • For real life?

  • The quality of the merch at the very least is better than the crappy Wiggles stuff. And by buying the merch you’re supporting the show and it’s creators and so you are helping support Australian creatives and studios make genuine media about the Australian experience or at least more episodes of Bluey. I think that’s well worth the cost of the plushies.

As a side bonus we’re going to have a whole generation of kids internationally spewing forth Australianisms and looking at their parents like racist idiots when they mock us with shrimps on the barbie and knife jokes.

  • it better clean the house for $52

    • +1

Well you get 2… so can always strap one each to your feet so it COULD clean your house…

      • hahahahahah, actually didn't realise you get two

  • 52 bucks??? Bluey must be doing all right for herself.

Fun fact: Bluey is voices by the lead singer of Aussie band Custard - for those that are old enough to remember them..

    • +1

Haha I laughed when I first heard that a few months back, then watched it again and wondered why I never saw it before

  • Never seen or heard of bluey, good to know now for my toddler
