It is from the official Slurpee Australia page.

guess my kfc bucket is ruled out

    • kfc flavoured slurpee

    • +8

      or this http://28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ljlmadNikp1qdwhn6o1_500.jp…

Edit: Ugh, I just realizd straight after I posted this that's it's not BYO.

      • haha nice one!!!

      • +10

        I don't know what's worse…the HUGE pink cup or the shorts…

    • Sounds like he likes his slurpee hot and spicy

      Btw…Pringles Container FTW!! :D

    • Walked into KFC and asked for a couple of buckets, they asked 'is it for Slurpees?', we say 'no… it's for personal use…', they handed them over! Walked into 7/11, filled it! Not as huge as some of the others out there, but so good!

      • Oh…god…the…mental…images…

      • What they must be imagining personal use meant … :)

  • +1

Haha, the graphics artist who did this had a sense of humour.

    http://www.facebook.com/SlurpeeAustralia?sk=app_265232120167…

But what dimensions are 230x260mm? BxW? What about height?

    • +29

They only specified two dimensions (width and height). I'm going to get creative with depth and time.

My head fits in a 230x260mm space, and I'm going to stay under it all day.

      • +4

        Permanent brain freeze FTW!

    • +1

I've been there, they have this hole on top of the machine to test whether what you bring fit, it has mid size of 26 wide 23 high.

  • +1

    Haha, cool idea

    • No pun intended right?

Quite frankly, this deal gives me the "chills" Might as well "slurp" up the offer before it expires.

  • +1

I was thinking lunch-esky. Rules state max size 230x260mm. I'd argue to be measured inside as true capacity.

  • How does the 230x260mm size limitation compare to the Super/Jumbo Slurpees?

    • seems quite big,
Not sure if its the breadth x width but for the 3rd dimension it's limitless

so you can essential create your own cup

  • I'm trying to work out what they mean by maximum size of 230x260mm…

do they mean the size of a cylinder?

Because that works out to be around… 10 litres of slurpee… (almost 11)

    • -5

      milimetres

      • Who said otherwise?

      • He was using mm - If he was using cm, that wont even fit in the back of my car's boot!

    • They give two dimensions, so it should be cylindrical.
      23 x 26 x pi x pi x 0.5 = 2951 cubic centimetres.

      • +1

        23 x 26 x pi x pi x 0.5 = 2951 cubic centimetres.

not sure where this equation came from\
woops now i do 0.5 is to get radius of the cylinder

        use pi x r^2 * h

        which gives
-If diameter is 26 and height is 23 Volume of 12.21L
-If diameter is 23 and height is 26 Volume is 10.80L

        • also, i believe that is a common pot size, just google it. (and plug up the holes)

      • +3

That is a funky calc you did there ;P

        Volume of a cylinder = pi * r^2 * l

        • woops edit

        • lolz, good name :P

        • when did it ever say that it has to be cylindrical? i see it as
          23x23x26

might as well get the full square, and just says it equiv radius is 230.

      • +1

        As per el_cheapo's correct formula,
        Pi * (23/2)^2 *26 = 10.8 litres.
The bigger question is what easy to find item has these dimensions that we can use?

      • Holy shit I don't know what I was just on.
        Fumes it seems…of both kinds.

  • get a postal tube..seal up one end :D

    • How is that different to a cup? Has to be a certain size

    • +2

Nah, if its cylindrical, you are wasting the dimensions.
To get the best bargain, it has to be rectangular.

      • Slurm is pretty good at hiding in corners….

      • +5

True ozbargainer! Not only found a great deal. Now we need to work out a way to get th emost out of this bargain.

  • +2

You're all thinking about it all wrong.

Grab one of their spare coffee pots when they're not looking.

    • +1

      too small

  • +4

Just bring a plastic bag and fill the bag up. Put a straw in it and bob's your uncle.

    • +15

YES! Expanding cup. The rules don't say that it needs to stay under 230x260mm

      • +17

cup + hose in bottom + rubber pants = perfect crime :)

        • +16

What's the hose in bottom for? Slurpee enema?

        • +19

Sour apple with a hint of sweaty ball sack… delicious!

        • +17

          Warning: may induce severe shrinkage.

        • hehe, nice one bern1992 :D

While i did mean to connect the hose to the bottom of the cup, your idea sounds like more fun!

  • What if you connect the slurpee nozzle to a hose which leads outside to an esky? Techically, it's staying under the limit!

  • You can just bring your 2 litre coke bottles xD

  • just get a 6 metre length of 225mm diameter pvc pipe and put a cap on the end :P
then you can get some really thin 15mm diameter pipe to use as a straw :P

  • +10

yayay - aldi have buckets on special :P http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_18931.htm :D 12L of slurpee here i come!

  • +1 for meeeeeeee

    • No more slurpees for you, seijai.

  • thanks for the laughs above guys and gals.. hmm with these dimensions Im thinking a pot plant pot from bunnings lined with plastic might be just right?

  • +1

Na u can't beat office works on there 24litres storage box!

  • +2

Way to go, I revived a thread but anyone find a good deal on 12L buckets.

  • +2

Anybody make a 7-11 shop run out of slurpee yet?

  • +1

I'm trying to imagine drinking 12L of Slurpee! Damn!

    • +1

      I just did…eeeeehhhhh b r a i n f r e e z e

  • Thanks for the update. I was wondering when it was.

  • FFS…you guys go nuts for semi-frozen sugared flavoured water!

    • No, the slurpee would be a waste on me. I just enjoy watching people's creativity. More pix please.

  • +3

    +1 for the fun factor.

  • +1

    Woohoo Got mine

    U jelly?

    • +1

      i got a 403 error

      • +8
        • +1

Were you walking through Bris? I saw some guys with this exact rig!

        • Win! Those containers cost about $10 tho… (then again if you already owned one..)

        • +7

nah man, I'm in Canberra and I have 3 of these containers.

WHen I was carrying it out ( like a boss), some school kids gave me a weird look cuz they had just bought three slurpees at full price while I had got more than all of them combined for a lower price.

        • +7

Actually the funniest thing was the guy behind the dude with your rig. He had something even bigger and was eating/drinking it using a soup ladle with the store tag still swinging from the handle.

I'm assuming he picked up shortly after. I can't say what women want, but who wouldn't hit that?

        • FILL IT TO THE TOP!!!

  • More pics guys.

  • +2

Brought a mixing bowl to Hawthorne. Didn't look like anyone had actually taken the store up on the offer. I wouldnt blame them, as it's ~18 C and overcast, Not really slurpee weather.

    • Did you fill the whole mixing bowl, or did the store look at you kinda weird and give you problems ?!

    • +3

LOL, the manager of the store told me someone actually brought a bong along with him, in Canberra?!!?

  • +13

    I CHALLENGE YOU OZBARGAINERS.

COME AT ME. (with your slurpees)

    http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/306814_219167…

(8L tub from Kmart tupperware collection)

    • the awkward this is storing it, because i share 2 fridges with 7 other peoplee.
i managed to fit a 5L saucepan in the freezer as well as a 1L container.
going through a litre now and a litre for dessert tonight :)

ps. dimensions are 21x29x17 and holds 8L (32 cups)

    • +1

and then this lady after me bought a small slurpee
she told me later she thought i worked at 7/11
      and her daughter was like
      nooo. i want THAT one.

    • +1

nice stuff. Man I should have taken my 10 litre vegetable oil container. THAT would have been awesome.

Any engineering students here with access to 3D printer? Essentially you could make the Holy Grail of Slurpee by using the exact dimensions.

      • pretty sure the cost of that wouldnt be worth ozbargaining lol.

        • not sure how 3D printing works but students would be subsidised by their college

    • +3

This is my favourite one from their FB page, http://slurpee-fb.com.au/byocup/www/uploads/302999_101502900…

      Slurpee for the whole office.

      • My store had a cardboard cutout, and that wouldn't have fitted. :(

        • +3

Yeh, I got grief for my giant soup pot…. But they buckled in the end.

First they said flat out no. And I said the Facebook page said 25x26cm.

Then they agreed to let me partially fill it.

Then whilst I was trying to pull up the rules, he changed again and said I could fill it.

I mean seriously, is it really worth his time to argue over a couple litres of Slurpee??

        • +3

ryang, that is just the nature of 7 eleven stores and probably Indians in general. I have had similar issues with redeeming promotions in the past.

      • +2

+1 Suddenly the slurpee cooler becomes a new gathering spot. :)

      • +3

        Slurpee for the whole office.

      • +1
