I jump between Kogan, Belong and Amaysim from month to month so i bought 4.
They use optus
not sure what to complain with this price.

Not to mention on trains
They just purchase too little bandwidth from optus

Same here, just burn 40GB data one by one at home only. It seems no difference to Optus when you leave it at a good spot for reception.
Wireless signal reception has nothing to do with data bandwidth purchasing by the MVNO.
Chances are if you switch over to another MVNO on the Optus network you'll get exactly the same issue there. Probably even the same issue on an connection from an actual Optus account. It's the Optus mobile phone tower not providing a wireless signal to that location. So my bet is you'll get exactly the same issue with the amaysim SIM card at the shopping centre since it's on Optus 4G. They call it a black spot. So you're better off trying a connection on for example Telstra or Vodafone.

Not directly. It is usually for 'New' customers. So port out to another vendor and use a new email address when you port back in.

yes, to play safe, it's better to port out to another telco that doesn't use optus for at least 7 days
e.g. Amaysim (optus) -> Kogan (vodafone) -> Amaysim (optus)
Circles.Life to Catch Connect within 4 hours two days ago. I think Optus has already upped porting game.

If you use a referral to buy it you'll be up $5 ($10 referral bonus minus $5 outlay) and your referee up $10. Even better than this deal because I don't think you can use referrals with starter sims not bought from the referral link.

It doesnt scan as $3 until you check out - scans as $10 but when you put the bigger long bar code in (had to do it manually at check out) it works and shows the discount

I just purchased 3 from Coles store for $3 each. However on the packaging it's stated 1Gb and not 2Gb. And OP, you mentioned and AmaySim website that it tells you 2Gb. I only see that for 2Gb it's another plan.

For amaysim voucher recharge, was there ever a promotion on it?
You can buy from Woolworths and pay with e-gift card. If you bought the e-gift card at a discount, you're effectively getting the voucher for a discount.
