  • Fantastic Price

      Remember it's Vodafone.

      • …and like that I've lost interest

  • This is the price for 12 of 28 days, which is 336 days, i.e. 11 months, not 12 months.

  • Hotspot tethering is allowed on personal devices only and must not be used in a modem or substitute for home internet service

    How would they know?

    • Probably by IMEI number belonging to a modem.

      • Right. There’s a probably a maximum number of devices you can tether at a time that I’m guessing is 2

        • they would not know how many devices you have running behind the modem.

But they would know the device that you're using as the modem, so if it's a 4G router that would be a red flag. I guess if you used an old phone, to get around this, but always used it for home internet they could also flag it, because it's always connected, or connected for many hours each day.

    5G? Network?

    • I'm guessing 4g on Vodafone?

      • Seems 5G enabled

    • They transitioned from Telstra to now Vodafone

        Gee that would suck!

      • +3

As part of our commitment to improving our services, we're transitioning our network from the Telstra network to the Vodafone network.

        improving? really?

        • People need to stop simping for Telstra - if you never venture out to regional areas, Vodafone is actually generally better.

Telstra is congested as hell in more inner-city areas because all of the corporate phones are on Telstra. In Melbourne CBD, I get around 50Mbps down on my Telstra work phone, and around 230Mbps down on my Vodafone personal phone. Plenty of other congested areas with similar issues on Telstra. Vodafone have also generally been doing a better job of putting up towers in new suburban estates.

Telstra is significantly better for regional and rural coverage for me, which supports what we generally know about Telstra. However, the idea that "Telstra = fantastic, and Vodafone = shit" is untrue and actually might be completely wrong for certain groups of users (e.g. those who never venture out of the capital cities).

  • Great, with a plan like this, it means it's basically February every month. Who is coming up with plans like this?

  • Spewing. Just bought 3 x Kogan 12 month sims. This is a much better deal.

  • 336-Day Prepaid Mobile Plan

This is really cheeky - by saying 336 days, they're intentionally trying to make it sound like a yearly plan, whilst hiding that it's actually an 11 month plan (almost 30 days shorter than a full-year plan).

In other words, if you are comparing to regular 12 month (or 365 day) plans, then the effective cost of this (for comparison purposes) would be more like $180 * 365 / 336 = $196. Still a great deal if you need that amount of data.

  • You'd rather get the student discount and get 960gb

  • Terrible customer service. Product review rated 2.2
