PLUV10

Just putting this out there as an option for those who missed out on the AstiVita 31.5" monitor deal at Amazon. Not the cheapest price ever for the monitor but still a decent discount and similar in price and specs compared to the AstiVita monitor (but IPS - most likely better for colours and viewing angles - instead of VA and not curved).

Extra Futu Online listings if stock runs out (comes to $287.55 in cart with 10% auto-discount + PLUV10 code applied in combination):

I wish i got a pair of these over the viewsonic 27inch 144hz option.

I just dont have the GPU grunt to make use of 144hz.

    Eugh, more money.

    • What’s your gpu?

      • A pair of 1060 6gb with shunt mods, and overclocked to the moon.

While they dont SLI, it means one of them does PHYSX and the other does the Rendering.

        • That sounds wild.

What kind of performance do you get out of it at 1440p? I've got an old 1060 at home, wondering if it's worth picking up a second one cheap for the frankenparts pc i will eventually build.

          • @yobeets: at 1440p I manage to stay above 60fps with no AA, but only just.
            Boarderlands2 dips occasionally.

If only NVIDIA had of been smart enough to allow SLI like on the 1070's, we'd still have useful cards.
            Ho-Hum.

    • I personally prefer anything higher res over 144hz.
ie better image sharpness/fidelity over better motion as I don't play fps games much.

  • Can anyone advise what specs are ideal for music production?
Absolutely no gaming, don't have the time and would be easier via a PS4.

I am thinking 32-34" UW Curved? 1080 or 2560? I generally sit 1m or so from screen.

I'll have 24" panels on each side.

Legit anything with bigger than 1080x1920 resolution will suit you better for music production. The bigger and more pixels the better if you ask me. I have a 1200x1600 vertical next to a 2560x1600 and I could still make use of another screen on the other side but have no more physical space. Some people buy 4k TV's and mount them far back on the wall.

It really bothers me that you wrote 1080x1920 instead of 1920x1080

        • Sounds like he's working in Portrait screen rotation.

    • I reckon a 3440*1440 Ultrawide is perfect. You basically want as many horizontal pixels as you can fit and afford, surely? Or if you care about seeing stacks of tracks and don't care as much about length, go 4K 16:9.

Curved is great if you're in the middle, although flat could be better if you have musicians looking on from the side? In that case IPS would also offer better viewing angles.

I mean, there is all manner of 200:9 superultrawide nonsense out there if you can justify it…

  • Such a shame 31-32” is cheaper than 27” which I think is the sweet spot

  • Would be the perfect monitor for me if it were 27", my stand can only hold up to that size :(

For some reason (although it says use PLUV10 in the subheading of that listing) it does not seem to work in the checkout when I tested it. Instead it gives me this error: 'This code can't be applied to your order'. Others can have a try to test it

      • Yes, PLUV10 doesn't work with it. We can only use POOL3 which gives a 3% discount bringing the price down to $295.85.

  • Looks like no VESA mounting options - A real bummer as this is a great price for a IPS display.

I bought this monitor for work (Emails, spreadsheets etc) and photo editing, absolutely love it. Wasn’t sure about the brand before I bought it but it seems as well built as any Samsung monitor I’ve owned. Nice IPS panel colours and contrast. Looks more expensive than it costs.

It’s only WQHD but far crisper than 1920x1080

No speakers, but has a 3.5mm output jack I hook up a Bose soundlink mini to it for music.

No height adjustment on the stand, but it does tilt.

Was looking for it… thanks OP

  • I bought this monitor back for $276, and I think it's great. Pixel response times are good enough for some fortnite and for productivity it's a great option

  • Can someone recommend me a 27" QHD 144hz monitor that isn't overpriced?

    • The LG 27GL850 is highly recommended but is quite a bit more expensive with recent deals for it at around ~$670+ (not sure if you consider that overpriced for what you get)

The Viewsonic VX2758-2KP-MHD. It is often $399 and I believe is the cheapest IPS. If you are happy with VA or even TN may be cheaper options

  • Updated main link to Futu Online as the Shopping Express Listing had sold out

  • Great screen for the price. Bought one for my wife a while back and she has been very pleased. The colours are great and for an IPS panel it's a cracker deal

  • iirc these things don't have VESA mounts, which explains the lower price. You could probably jerry-rig it though.

  • Had this screen for a few years and absolutely love it. Couldn't go back to a smaller screen.

Note for games there are reports of ghosting, mine is OK as I'm not that fussy so don't really notice it. It can 'overclock' to 75hz as well. Good colours and very good price point.

  • It's deals like these that makes me wanna upgrade from my 1050ti build, but I really don't need an upgrade lol.
