Come again?
That seems odd, many companies have failed so there name is sold but Hitachi still makes heavy earth moving equipment.
And the world's greatest vibrator.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitachi_Magic_Wand
I'm almost inclined to purchase the tv as a thank you for all the goods times they've delivered…
Little known fact!
@Kuzdog: Speak to your wife's friends.
They all know…
Well - something I never expected to learn from OzBargain.
Anybody know of any good deals on the magic wand?
"The Magic Wand has alternatively been referred to as the Cadillac of vibrators,[1][2][3] the Rolls-Royce of vibrators,[4][5][6] and the mother of all vibrators.[7][8][9] Counselors Bettina Arndt, Laura Berman, Gloria Brame, and Ruth Westheimer recommended the device to women, and Cosmopolitan magazine reported the Magic Wand was the vibrator most often suggested by sex therapists. Mobile Magazine readers in 2005 voted the Magic Wand "the No. 1 greatest gadget of all time".[10] Tanya Wexler's film Hysteria featured the device while showing the evolution of the vibrator. Engadget called the Magic Wand "the most recognizable sex toy on Earth".[11]"

Does it run android ?
Does it run?
Only if it has legs
Yes, looks like it has legs.
@Gaz1: 4 legs too
@Zackeroo: fast
Wow I wall mounted a 55 inch Hitachi back in the full HD Era and they preformed way better than kogan, TCL panels. I literally just missed out and bought a 65 inch today. If anyone finds out the model please post it.

i think that was a different hitachi to what you're buying here. This is probably some <insert random factory> TV with a Hitachi badge slapped on.
You could be very right my friend.
Cool! But just checking this is a real Hitachi and not a yumcha …. oh bugger!!

Coming up as not able to be delivered for me metro vic even though local stores have stock. Think this is pickup only.
Pickup only, looks like Caringbah has stock
Okay, there has to be a huge catch why this 75" is sub-$900. I'm guessing that it isn't Android TV based and will be at the whim of the manufacturer to provide updates (read: never) for app support.
IMHO a cheapie Chromecast does a far better job than most android TV.
About the same price as the Linsar brand (which seems similar specs):
www.thegoodguys.com.au/linsar-75-inches-4k-uhd-hdr-smart-tv-…Any ideas how these compare?
This one at least is in stock!
Nice. Wife's been banging on about wanting a Hitachi for the bedroom. Valentine's sorted, thanks op.
Does she need help setting it up?
In home tutorial?
unfortunately I think a lot of formerly reliable Japanese brands have long gone bankrupt and sold the brand name to no-name Chinese factories.
Better to go with Hisense, a real Chinese manufacturer that has to stand by its brand name.Wow that’s cheap.. anyone pulled the trigger? What’s the verdict?
I cant find stock neat me in SA?
No you can't
The best "cheapest biggest" tv you can buy
"Hitachi"-branded TVs are not actually made by the Japanese manufacturer Hitachi now, but rather the Turkish company Vestel (which also makes Finlux TVs).
What are the advantages of this TV, over say, a Movie Theatre, which I could also afford?
I can bet my house this TV will have low brightness, poor dynamic range, low refresh rate, 60Hz, no HDR at 60 fps, backlight clouding… Etc
The coupon code doesn’t seem to work?
Just put a deposit on one of these for 850 with a chromecast. Does anyone know the refresh rate?
Do you think worthwhile trying to get a deal on a sound bar and blu ray player at the same time guys??
+1 for the price, but having had a 75" for some years now, I learned a few things
Just because it is big, doesn't mean it employs a modern or even good processing and control system. Sound is better as it is bigger, but unless you buy a ultra-premium, will never match the picture size, so never expect it not to need other speakers
Remote control can be just as bad on a big one as the small ones, eg slow processor/poor software can mean it takes time to respond, display the OSD, switch input, so pulling up the EPG or even changing volume can take moments to some seconds. This is a royal PITA as you notice it every time and it can even delay and annoy you every time you want to change channel.
Support, updates, software can be just as frustratingly bad/non-existent as a $200 tv
The bigger it is, the more it is worth paying for quality as it will last longer. The first time you try to take a 75 out of the store, you realise this: They are hard to transport, position, mount, setup, remove, sell, give away… you need 2 capable, careful people to do all this, and they really only fit in a van or on a roof rack. Be careful… they are sooooooo much easier to damage than smaller TVs
what to do when it fails? Will everyone landfill their 75" TVs? A well designed/built one will likely last much longer.
This may be cheap but these Hitachis seem to be a low-end rebrand, like the Teac, Akai, JVC, and all the no-name cheapies, but quite possibly at the low end of that schedule too.
And also suffer from a bad case of vertical banding.
and they give you cooties
The magic wand or the TV?
Does anyone know the refresh rate on this TV? I have been told 50hz. Is it worth paying a little extra for a diff brand and higher refresh rate?
The RU7100 75" 4k TV from Samsung was $1250 in January 2020 at Good guys but sale ended and now back up to 1600 or so..
