  • Great price for a decent brand and size. Tempted… and I just bought a TV yesterday 😳

I’ve never used the smart features on an LG. Does it handle the usual suspects; plex, Netflix, Disney+ ok?

    • Can't install vpn apps or kodi app unfortunately as you can with android tv, otherwise I would've got an lg. They have some nice tvs.

      • Thanks

      • You can always buy an android box to have those apps installed. Nvidia shield, mi box or some mecool official android box.

    • I've used these features on a C7, B9 and C9 and it works pretty seamlessly in my experience.

      • Thanks

        • Which TV did you end up with

          • @stickymoo: Not sure yet. There’s a cavity in the wall of new house. 55” doesn’t quite fit in. 50” will be too small. Not sure what to do.

Was initially gonna full spot with 65” but there’s a gas heater underneath which might be a problem in winter.

            Omg too much to handle.

            • @Bellpop: I had the same issue in my place. The cavity can only fit a 55'' and I want a bigger screen. I ended up setting up a rollable projector screen of 100''
However, the TVs are much bigger and much cheaper now. I'd definitely go a 75'' TV instead of a projector.

              • @AkiraSaito: So the bracket was in the cavity? The house was built 8 years ago, I guess 50” was the go then…

I’m still thinking about the best solution.

                • @Bellpop: Amazing the difference 50 to 55 makes. Even though it's a smaller gap than 55 to 65.

I'm happy with 55 for the small area we have. But the price difference to 65 is pretty much negligible now.

                  Tough one for you

                • @Bellpop: I am thinking about removing the cavity and re-building the TV wall in my place. But it's gonna be a big project.

                  • @AkiraSaito: That’s an idea. But yeah, I’m not that handy, so would involve a plastered and painter at my end. Maybe better to cover the cavity with 65” TV.

Only issue is the gas heater below

  • This LG 65UM7400PTA vs Hisense 65R8, is the Hisense worth extra $300?
