How old is it?
over 3yrs so out of warranty unfortunately
3yrs seems a bit short for the life of a TV.
I have the opposite problem my 6+ year old 55inch Sony W900A is still going strong and the Boss won't let us get a new one until it gives up the ghost (Hashtag 1st world problems).
@camelthief: I'm hearing you mate, but the boss here said last night "oh jeez you can't watch tv like that"… BOOM
@Robski7777: Haha not even going to try and get a late warranty job on it? Just move to a new deluxe model. Nice.
@serpserpserp: Correct… This one is going straight to the pool room..!
@camelthief: What if it had a little accident…?
Uh not quite. If you kick up a stink correctly they'll fix it.
This isn't that hard to repair yourself, as long as you take your time and be very careful. I recently helped a mate do it on his 50" and it went very smoothly and the TV is now back to 100%. Obviously a 60" is going to somewhat more difficult to lift out and re-place the LCD screen safely. We used some suction cups I had lying around from old dashcams but we were prepared for the possibility of catastrophic failure.
The 55inch Samsung is the same price ($995) at Bing Lee and Harvey Norman
Q6? I’m in the market for two 55” Samsung Q6s…
Oh bummer. I’ve read the RU8000 is a fair bit crappier than the Q6 55” and both get to around the same price. I’d personally prefer better smart features that won’t slow or none so I can plug in an Apple TV…
Any suggestions? Needs to be 55” due to spacing at home
@Bellpop: I think you mean Q60r. RU8000 is still a decent 4k TV, just not as good. If you can spend a bit extra def go Q60r.
@ifreddo: Hey, thanks for the feedback. I mean this one… It might be the Q60R? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/513560
We need Trent86 the TV guy back again!
@Bellpop: Yep that's the one.
is the Samsung 65 the same one that was out of stock at Appliances online?
$556 for TCL 75P8M 75inch or no deal! still sad about the TGG deal :(
Nice! Might finally grab the TCL 50P8M
Any chance of summarising what the exclusions are as per the catalogue for the computer deals? Bit blurry can't read.
Any recommendations on a budget laptop for a mother who has little computer knowledge. Need something simple and basic but reliable. Mainly for checking emails and growing the internet etc. would be nice to pair with this deal.
proper catalogue out now https://catalogue.jbhifi.com.au/2020/02/13-feb-kjhf/index.ht…
Thanks OP, might be good timing. My 60 LG tv has just developed 3 large white dots (squares) in a descending row down the screen. From YouTube videos it seems some reflectors have fallen off. Funny because the tv has not been moved or knocked.
