i think the selling point for these cards are the 8gb's :)
1660 Super RTX260 and RX5600XT dont even have 8GB's of video memory THEY don't even have 256bit memory bus
I don't think a 580 will be fast enough for games that use more than 4GB VRAM anyway
Both of them are still too expensive for such old cards when you can get a 1650 super for $223.20.
It's faster than either and uses around half the power, so you'll be saving another $100+ over the life of the card. Really, unless you're getting a 570 or 580 for <$100 they're just not worth it.
The 1650 Super is 6% faster.. but in NEWER games that need more memory the 1650 super will end up being slower.. so the RX580 being the older card is more future proof lol.. how funny
Both cards idle at the same power usage… if you game 10+ hours a day you will notice a power usage difference over the life of the card but if you game like a normal person your elec bill will be peanuts we are talking about 100W vs 185W

No they don't, rx 580 uses 10 watts more idle.

Depends on the resolution and settings. Virtually no games will use more than 3gb of Vram at 1080p (some like Red Dead Redemption 2 are closer to 4gb), but for 1440p and 4k yeah, you're going to need more. Of course, budget graphic cards aren't really meant for those resolutions anyway.
580 for under $100 ??? maybe 1 day, but not soon, they still fetch between $150 - $200.

Not negging you or anything as we are all entitled to an opinion but to say an RX 580 is worth less than $100, in m opinion is ridiculous.
When you consider that it's going to use $100+ in energy cost over the 1650 super, and the 1650 super is faster, unless you're getting it for <$100 it's a bad deal.

I really wouldn't drop down to an RX 570, regardless of the price.
That 10-15% gap in framerates can be the difference between a perfectly playable experience and an utterly frustrating one.
As someone who uses the RX 580 on a daily basis, I would classify an RX 580's level of performance as the bare minimum for Triple-A gaming nowadays @ 1920x1080 and even then, you're going to have run things at Medium settings across the board.

Target: mainly for 1080p gaming that I could play on high/ultra settings for hopefully next 3-4 years.
I prefer NVIDIA over AMD (no issue with AMD, just preference), I am eying for a 1660 Super for $300. But the cheapest 1660 super would cost me $350+Should I wait for 5600/5600XT price drop or buy 1660 super for $350+

What are you using now? Also, Nvidia are going to 7nm later this year, so if you don't urgently need an upgrade it may be best to wait for that.
Well they definitely have been cheaper but that's still within the threshold of an acceptable price for an RX 580 8GB card.
Though I have to stress, as someone who owns an RX 580 4GB and still uses it as his main, gaming GPU, the 8GB VRAM model is fairly redundant for most gamers, because at higher resolutions like 1440P or 4K, your FPS is going to be so piss-poor because the the RX 570s/RX 580s are absolutely not designed for 1440/4K gaming, that all of that extra VRAM intended for higher AA/AF levels and other advanced rendering effects simply won't matter one iota.
The 8GB variants still have same core counts and clock speeds as the 4GB variants, so they'll push identical FPS at 1920x1080, which is where these cards still excel.
If you have a choice, I would simply save more money and go with a 4GB variant (assuming you can find one for cheaper somewhere).
At $199, the deal I linked to above for the RX 580 4GB still has a performance-per-dollar ratio is still nigh-on unbeatable at the moment given how overpriced the RX 5500 XT/GTX 1660 are currently, and especially given the rather small performance difference of about 10-15% between the GTX 1660 and the RX 580.
I've been running an RX 580 (4GB) for 2 years now and I find it's just capable enough to still be relevant for Triple-A gaming @ 1920x1080 (or 2560x1080 in my case) in 2019 (albeit with a hefty OC). Luckily, most RX 580s OC really well (mine is running at 1450Mhz on the core, which is nearly 200Mhz above the stock core clock speed; you won't find any other mid-range cards that can OC that much these days).
Either way you go (4GB or 8GB), the RX 580 is a really good value GPU even now in 2020, and you're not missing out on much by going with a 4GB model.
It's really a case of whichever model saves the most money for you.I had this card in the past and it's a solid performer but the fans can get very loud when gaming…
Keep in mind that the Armor cooler is one of the worst coolers. It will get pretty hot and loud, though an undervolt and/or underclock will alleviate that.
