Has anyone tried any other stores?

  • I've never even seen these on display in a Target. Maybe just a Sunbury thing?

    • Usually happens when they are close to expiration date. There has been a couple similar deals on here before.

      • Interesting. Well, either my Target has no idea about such things or they get sneaked away by employees before ever being on display.

  • 2 cents? wow lol.. do they round down?

    • +12

      Yes, they do.

Did something similar with a formerly-bundled game and literally opened my hand to “drop” $0.02 in cash.

They said “thanks” and I walked away with the free game.

  • u put Fh3 in the title but even FH4 is in the link.. that can't be right, 2 cents?

  • +10

I think you'd be lucky to find any. Most people who see games for 2 cents won't mind spending a few dollars clearing out that stores entire stock. I know I would probably do it. Unless there's a limit per customer, but that doesn't make sense since they are obviously trying to get rid of the stock.

  • Reminds me of that Dick Smith deal a few years back. All the employees will pillage the good stock imo.

    • +5

Can't get too mad at the Dickies workers who were all going to be out of jobs, I'd have been pocketing anything not nailed down too.

mistaken for 2 seconds as "halo: master chef"……

  • +1

any other stores have them in stock?

    • -1

The title clearly states it is store specific though.. and the description clearly stated it is clearing out old bundled games.. none of that is a valid reason for a negative vote..

      • -1

Correct. I spoke to the guy and others in that group who all had success getting games. On this particular receipt there's six copies of Halo alone.

        • Unfortunately the only way to get it removed is for it to get -8 votes since its not a verbatim phrase for an invalid negative vote and people that falsely negative vote rarely remove it themselves.

        • On this particular receipt there's six copies of Halo alone.

You got a link to that 6x Halo receipt?

        • Would you be able to share the name of the Facebook group? :)

      • +3

But wouldn't there need to be a minimum quantity for it to be a deal?

        • -1

Did you call the store and verify the quantity? Do you have proof of that call?

  • +4

Target Southland, Vic gave away these with purchase FYI. I called and confirmed earlier today.

  • +8

That awkward moment when the plastic bag cost more than 7 games lol.

    • Aren't plastic bags banned?

      • +3

Sorry, "reusable" plastic bags lol. The same ones the supermarkets have.

      • Reusable. But seems unnecessary for carrying a bunch of cardboard?

  • Anyone still playing MCC ?. I gave up years ago when the same players kept teaming up in BTB.

    • -7

No one, thanks to people like you

    • +1

People teaming up in a team-based multiplayer game?! How dare they!

      • YouTubers who play tournaments, ruined it for everyone.

Big W also does this multiple times a year. I pounced a few years back prior to buying a console. Scooped up a lot of the previous bundle codes (Forza 5, Tomb Raider, Fifa, Rare Replay, GOW UE, The Lego Movie) and I only purchased a chocolate. Fun times!

  • +3

Have heard that other stores are also doin it. A store in WA confirmed they had all of these codes that they were able to sell for 0.2c and another user got an absolute epic haul for 15 cents.

  • Just visited Adelaide City store, no luck

  • +1

Can confirm it was only for that store. I visited the Myer Centre store in the Brisbane CBD and was told that an organization wide email was sent to mention Sunbury was the only store doing it. Was worth an ask though!

    • +1

The Press Start article says some people in WA had success with the same bargain. Might try calling my local anyway.

      • How did you go mate?

        • +1

No success. They said I had to buy a console to get them :) Admittedly I didn't ask them to scan the item anyway - the staff member looked like they'd not had the best day and I didn't want to be 'that guy'.

  • +3

Picked up a few at the Robina store yesterday. Not sure if they'd still honour it today though.

  • +2

    None at Greensborough.

  • Target Sunbury out of stock on all game tokens
