Leave your catcher outside between mows and you might lose it in the tall grass. Case of Catcher in the Rye.
my buffalo all dead. at least this is green
buffalo only dies when badly neglected.
As ozbatgains resident green keeper, the only thing I could recommend this for is to ovew sew in winter. 3-4 kg per 100m/2 is a pretty good rate. Apply in late April/May.
Maybe just do your front lawn to press neighbours?

Reee, bat…
i find concrete is always guaranteed to impress the neighbours
maxwellish, can you help me with my grass dilemma? I have a small rectangular front "lawn" here in Melbourne, but it struggles to grow grass.
Water isn't a problem, but it does face due soutb@h, and has a large branchy tree shading most of it. It's got patchy grasps (that stuff that grows out on the edge of footpaths) but also patches if complete bare dirt. The dirt itself seems pretty firm, and mainly clay based I would say.Am I screwed in terms of grass, or is there something I can do? Cheers Mr (or Mrs or they's??) resident greens keeper!
Sounds like you have compacted soils and shade issues. What kind of turf do you have? Couch is always going to struggle in winter, so that can make things harder.
Rye grass works quite well in Melbourne, so I would suggest you bust up the soil and apply granular gypsum. Over sew with rye and fertilise once established. Be sure to water regularly whilst the seed is germinating.
Good luck!
Will do! How deep would I need to turn over the soil? would stand based soil be needed to replace some of the clay based stuff or is it usually recoverable?
Definitly try to get some blended river sand in there mate.
Rye grass no doubt, rubbish.
