The cool kids always had a packet in high school :)

  • If you live anywhere near Coffs Harbour, NSW, this is $15.94

$1.50 each at Foodworks (normally $1.90)

      RRP for these is $1.89

As this is a new product to the Australian Market we don't currently have any set RRPs to follow as it was only made available for pre-order mid-january until it shipped recently.

Currently, we can't find any evidence of such a price,

Please also take into consideration that nationwide free shipping does also have to be absorbed into our costs.

Seeing that Extra-Normal (also retails at $2-$2.5 a pack) the referenced RRP seems lower than standard as Wrigley's controls both brands.

Further justification is shipping costs a minimum of $1 excluding processing fees and costs of getting the goods to us to dispatch.

$3 a pack once you break it down isn't an unreasonable price.

Applying the same reasoning with a larger and heavier 10 packets + higher processing fees + free shipping gives us a higher cost of sale/s.

If we were to charge freight based on our current weight pricing system, the discount you would be provided would be lower but the freight would make the overall cost higher as a freight discount has also been given internally on the $23 promo price.

We're also giving away a total of $109 of 5 Gum with any eligible purchase (or through social media($9 share promo))

Once you take all of the above into account the deal isn't bad.

        Kind Regards

        OP

          Foodworks: $1.50

myIGA: $2.04 (was also on sale recently for $1.50)

RRP: $1.89 (extract from Mars Wrigley Product Catalogue)

Please also take into consideration that nationwide free shipping does also have to be absorbed into our costs.

At which point it really isn't free shipping is it?

edit: Here's an old Woollies deal from 2014.

          HALF PRICE Wrigleys 5 Gum 32g Pk 12 $1

Trying to flog a bulk 10 pack above RRP of individual packs.

          Cheaper elsewhere.

          • Free Delivery

Please also take into consideration that nationwide free shipping does also have to be absorbed into our costs.

This on it's own is worth the neg. Free shipping means you don't charge the customer.

  • Didn’t know this still existed.

  • This still exists?

I have a packet of these in my draw that expired in 2014. Not sure why I haven't thrown it out

  • So…. 50 packs of Gum 32g varieties? That's not bad. Works out to be a little under 50c/packet. Thanks OP.

    • No I think it's 10 packs of 12 gum sticks, 320g total

      • I know! I was just a being a silly billy hehe

What's the best before date on these?

    • Best before dates vary.

You would be looking at a minimum of 4 months as it's new stock as 5 Gum has just been re-released in Australia

      OP

4 months seems unusually short shelf life for fresh product though?!

          Hi there,

I was about to update it then you replied.

          Just checked.

Use by dates are around 8+ months out.

Sorry for the incorrect information supplied above ^^

    High school …

The days where you kept 2 packs on you:

    1. one that was almost empty, so people wouldn't be able to scab/leech of you
    2. the real pack that you are keeping to yourself
  • Australia’s favourite?

  • none of these non mint gums last in the mouth. they'll start to deteriorate giving that mushy kind of yuck experience

  • What is the “mintiest” gum on the market?

  • Think I'll pass - contains aspartame (with phenylalanine), acesulfame-potassium, soy lecithin, sorbitol, mannitol and other sweeteners.

    • So?

    • +1

      That's bad

      • +4

But it comes with a free frogurt.

I recommend a trip to your local asian store, and buy Xylitol gum by Lotte.

'Healthy' sugar for the mouth and gut, and cheap.

      Also, super tasty.
