GPU ships installed, even with all the packing the box still gets knocked around during delivery.
They were good at first, then they said they would send me an email regarding next steps as it was looking like the GPU was DOA. They didn't send it
He's referring to the email not the GPU when he said they didn't send it.
Page is borked on Safari on iPhone.
Won’t let me add one to cart with an upgraded case.
Price increases as expected but when clicking add to cart, it says in red font in the case section “This option is required”.
If I reload the page, it won’t scroll so you can’t go to upgrade options. Can add a stock system but not one with either the white or black Leaper RGB case.
Have cleared cache and it still does it.
My son is looking to upgrade from his old Dell gaming laptop to a Desktop PC and this deal looks to generally fit his needs. I should note he has just turned 13 so I am looking at a PC which I am hoping he should be able to get 2-3 years worth of gaming out of… by which time, like his older brother he will probably have a part time job and can buy him self something more powerful if he wants when he has more money at hand.
Anyway, the point of this post… There are a couple of upgrades he is considering adding on to the base cost of the unit and I am curious of the opinion of other users here whether these are worth the extra cost or not on these units:-
a) Changing the motherboard to B450M ($79) - I suspect B350M would have sufficed but know they are out of stock.
b) Based on upgrading the motherboard then getting the 3200MHz memory - only $29 extra so not a big deal. But will a) and b) make much of a difference that it is worth the extra?
c) Upgrading the power unit to the 750W unit. ($119)
d) 120mm Liquid CPU Cooler - I have no experience with liquid cooling on my previous PCs and have never had a problem but then again his PC will probably be doing a lot more long session gaming than mine ever does so maybe it is worth it, particularly given QLD's weather. ($99) - and yes, I know he needs the slightly bigger case option but that was a given that he would pay for the leaper pro case upgrade.Would appreciate thoughts on this, particularly on d)… I want him to have a good experience given he his putting most of his birthday/xmas savings into this but at the same time don't want him to buy things like the CPU cooler when a stock CPU fan is perhaps more than good enough.
Cheers
I wouldn't use liquid cooling. The pumps are a frequent source of failure. And sometimes the fins inside the heat plate can clog up. The standard CPU air coolers are good enough to keep it all cool. The cpu will throttle if it gets too warm but can still run up to 90 degrees without slowing down.
Wanting to buy
how good will the psu hold up?Wanted to upgrade my current pc as its having issues (i7 3770 and gtx680) I imagine I would see an ok upgrade in performance with this pc? What options for 32g of ram and if I take out my current ssd which has the OS on it, could I just plug it into this one?
As long as you're running Windows 10 you should be able to put the SSD into the new PC no worries
Grabbed January's version of this deal (only a 120 SSD) with a couple upgrades (MSI B450M mobo, 3200mhz ram and the psu upgrade) for the better half. Very happy with the outcome. Packaged well and delivered safely to the other end of the country. Cheers Techfast!
Appreciate the review!
Is it out of stock? The link is showing available.
@luketechfast I ordered one of these but haven't got a confirmation email or anything to suggest it's coming? Any word?
Bring this back TA! :D

Got a pc on order, so this doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Was the GPU shipped pre-installed, or was it separate? I was led to believe the computers were shipped with the graphics card installed so that they could test them before sending them out?
