Amazon is cheaper as they remove VAT at checkout, but this is still a good deal for people who want to buy locally.

  • Not bad seeing that amazon put their prices up :(

  • amazon was $42pounds last month, and after removing the VAT at checkout, it beats this deal in any way!

I didn't buy it last month tho…as a lot of people complaint that the 1st or 2nd movie was split onto 2 disc!
so in the half way of watching, you gotta get off your seat, turn on the light to change the disc!

still waiting for 1 disc edition in the future!

    • Amazon is now 54.99 pound

    • All three movies are split over two discs. I doubt they were intending to make a single disc extended edition release, but the backlash may change their mind.

      • Negs? All three movies are split over two discs… I know because I have them. Unless the negs for for my opinion about whether they were intending to release a single disc extended edition? Having such long movies over two discs doesn't worry me, but there have been many complaints about it.

I didnt neg you if you ever wonder(I gave you +) :P

I knew it's long movie, but come on, what year are we on?
it was quite stupid to split movie over 2 disc

I'm hoping some other publisher will release 1 disc version,
this will sure attract lots of collector!

  • For the price difference is the extended version really that much better than the normal version? I had to watch the normal version in 2 sittings anyway!

    • The PQ of the original set is comparable to DVD. The extended box is immensely better.

When when watching the Fellowship of the ring I honestly did not notice. However after some investigations, I'd agree with your comment for the Fellowship of the ring.

So I guess the last 2 movies are of a better standard if not equivalent to the extended versions? I guess I'll have to check it out ;-)

        • In the comparisons it looks like they're comparing blu-ray to dvd, can't believe the difference!

    Amazon.co.uk says 42 GBP now

So using free delivery and once VAT is taken off this comes to about $55 AU delivered

But $79 for AU stock is a good price.

  • yes now $56.32 delivered from amazon uk.amazon uk is amazing.
