[VIC] 3 Free Soldiers @ Roll'd via App

1100
united10

Currently at the Melbourne United Game and Chris Goulding hit two three balls. If he hits another, it'll be three free rolls.

Gotta do it via the app and expires within 48 hours of the game's end, so go get your Thursday or Friday lunch I guess!

EDIT: He hit another three

EDIT: make sure the code is in lower case

Will this deal be Australia wide or just in Melbourne?

    • +1

No idea but I'd assume Melbourne

    • Yeah, only Melbourne =(

    • +3

of course, Melbourne is the best; who cares about Sydney

        • +1

I mean. Sydney is a giant badly planned hole.

        • +3

          Yeah? Well… Uber sucks. XD

        • +1

Wot? What's the giant yellow statue thing?

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: My best guess is: it's the place where uber drivers meet you for picking up.

  • thanks OP, guess lunch is sorted!

  • This is only in Melbourne (VIC), please put that in the Title.

    • +1

use the report button and select title/description then add your comment on what needs to be changed.

  • No meats

  • When do you enter the code? When you're ready to order, or can you store it in the app like ubereats?

    • +1

You have to order using the app, enter promo code at checkout.

  • Can't enter code. Probably because the store is closed.

    • Have you checked the date on which the deal will be active?

      • It says Thursday or Friday lunch in the deal
        Isn’t 31 Jan expiry?

Would like some clarification around this as I’m getting “Coupon not found”

  • No issues, Just picked up from southern cross lane.

  • +3

Coupon code not found for me.

    • +3

Make sure promo code is all lower case

      • Thank you. Worked now.

  • +5

OP, update the promo code please. It must be all lower case.

Also, appears to be unlimited redemption.

    • Doubt they will accept multiple orders done through the same phone.

      • -4

just collected my second order on the same phone

        • +3

dont scam it, the offer is generous enough and its not meant for you if you did not attend the game.

  • does it apply to any of the soldiers range?

    • THey removed my soft shell crab during checkout so i think only applies to $4.20 range

      • damn :(
is garlic and prawn in the $4.20 range?

        • Yes.

          • +1

@Slappie: it worked for me on the $4.70 roast duck

  • My local store marked everything as sold out on the app so people can't redeem the coupon. Doubt they are sold out of everything one hour after opening.

    • ugh, that sucks
      which store was that?

  • St Kilda Road showing as closed on the app which is BS

    • That's what happened last time to me in Frankston. I told the staff and she opened the store, she said she had forgotten to open it.

    • Update: I walked into the store and mentioned it was showing as Closed, girl at the register gave some vague excuse about IT issues and then when I asked if she can manually apply the promo at the register instead she got confused, checked with another staff member who knew about the code and said it was fine.

I got awkward and didn't ask for soft shell crab :( but can't complain about the 3 I did get for free!

  • Added 3 rolls to cart (garlic prawn) It accepted the coupon but insisted i still needed to pay $4.20 wth roll'd?

  • +2

Just got mine from Melb Central. My gosh they're average, I can't believe they can get away with charging people $4.20 for a roll.

    • Can't order from melb central. Says coupon code not found. :(

      • +3

Miyagi discovered that the coupon needs to be entered in lower case, i.e., united10

  • Four out of the six stores in the city are showing up as closed for me…

  • Just claimed mine from Southgate. I ordered for pick up at 10am just in case they sold out or did a dodgy. They've got a lot in stock but have closed as with many stores on the app to stop people. Perhaps due to the unlimited ability to redeem.

  • Credit to them I got mine from Goldsborough Village at noon! They tasted better than usual. They'll probably run out pretty soon but the staff did their best under very trying circumstances.

  • +2

Monash Uni Roll'd has disabled online ordering, presumably because of this. They're notorious stingy sods at that one, and they treat their Roll'd app orders as second class orders.

  • -2

    This is actually a SCAM.

Individual franchisees are disabling online ordering in their store so it appears as CLOSED.

I went to southern cross lane and they just didn't want to honour the deal. It's 130pm and they are obviously not wanting to give away free rolls to customers?

2 stores in entire VIC are open at 2p now. Lol as if.

    • +2

I wouldn't call it a scam, I would call it "marketing department doesn't know how the internet workz".

They are pretty lame at full price, if it's such a hassle I won't go out of my way to try Southgate on the way home.

      • Yeah I know what you mean, I walked into the store showing them that the app says you are closed.

They told me to go to another store to redeem. They've redeemed too many today. Lol

        • +1

Unfortunately, if you have people such as houseishouse ordering 9 at once then stores are likely going to get swamped pretty quickly and others will miss out…
I also feel sorry for the staff who suffer from the impact of any marketing decisions.

@forrester: its not supposed to be used by anyone except the 6,355 people that attended the basketball game. It's dirty how you all claim it and whinge about it when it's not meant for you and it's free.

            • @sirlothie: It’s on the Melbourne United Facebook page

              • @NotBritishorUK: well that's a surprise, normally it's only announced inside the arena but still it's a sponsorship deal for fans, not advertised for everybody by roll'd.

                • @sirlothie: Correct only announced at the game, like every game - so we all hope CG43 hits his threes!!!

Just like the 'staff only' codes and deals on OZB? which are only used by 'staff'?? lol

I also feel sorry for the staff who suffer from the impact of any marketing decisions.
They are all franchisees, so I dont know if they get rebates from Roll'd, maybe only wholesale rebates - as the retail store would rather sell more to the general public who pay full price…

The store I went to definitely didn't 'suffer', they were quite happy to continue selling the rolls to full fee paying customers, and direct me to another franchisee store.

  • I’m still getting code not found using lower case

Update: think this is because my default store isn’t appearing when I download the app on another phone

  • Worked for my Partner and I in Frankston about 20 minutes ago.

  • Thanks OP for the free lunch.
    Wouldn't pay $13 for 3 soldiers

  • I remembered bout this deal early this morning and placed order for 6pm pickup at Southgate. There was a long queue there, presumably most claiming the freebie. When I requested for my order the girl serving said there’s a lot of orders today.

Also bewildered how they’re able to charge $4.7 per soldier!!

  • Still working, Collins street Melbourne. Thanks op

    • Yep appears to still work although they took half an hour to accept my order. Pick up queue's crazy with people using this, everyone's phones has the zero dollar order lol

      • Same here. Just collected it from Collins Place.

        • metoo

        • Like ships in the night, I must've been loitering waiting for mine when you were collecting yours…

          • @MELso: There was a young lady who seemed to have done two separate promo code orders under the same account - the guy behind the counter refused to give her the second order because it's one per person! Haha… bit cheeky from her if that was the case!

            • @mrbargainhunter: What were the terms and conditions. If it didn't actually say 1 per person in T&G then you can order more. That was an issue with the app code. Also some stores then put out of stock, so you couldn't get it. Oh getting another one is more about whether its the right thing to do or not. Cheeky yes, but if the rules don't say you can't then the opening is there. Gee we are Ozber's Anything free.

  • Just used the code at St Kilda Rd, Melbourne store. Still working.

  • Not sure why this is listed as expired. Just used it at the St Kilda Road store.
Added 3x bbq chicken sliders to my cart, a couple of other items, and then put in "united10" at checkout and got the discount.

    • +1

I's suppose to last 2 days, so should be valid till end of today. I think OP put in wrong expiry date.

  • Who pays for this? United or the store?

    • +1

I suspect the Roll'd head office or franchise Parent as they have a named sponsorship deal with Melbourne United and would be included in their marketing budget. I highly doubt the individual stores would have to absorb the cost of giving out free soldiers.

  • No problem redeeming upstairs at Chadstone this afternoon, thanks OP :)

  • Expired for me at richmond now

  • Coupon expired for me now too.

  • Expired for me at Melbourne Central
