Headphone Adaptor USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack $10 @ Kmart

102

I bought it today, not much of a bargain compared to Apple usb-c to 3.5mm which is $15 but I thought people should know what they are buying

hooked up to my windows 10 pc I can see that audio output is 16 bit 48Khz (DVD Quality) non-changable and can record 1 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality) also non-changable

my pc describes this as "CBHT audio" idk what that means

this kind of information should be written at the back of all usb-c audio adapters but not even apple has any info on their package

also from using it, when using a standard TRS plug iTunes goes crazy playing and pausing non-stop but using a TRRS plug from a headphone with mic it works fine, I might buy an adapter to use it with standard TRS plug

this post is just a FYI

Can get one for literally $3.99 on eBay, and no reason I'd trust this one any more than that one.

Most of the ones on EBAY are just passthrough and don't have a DAC which is required by a lot of phones like Note 10 etc.

      • Can get one with a DAC for $7 posted

  • Any idea if this works properly on a note 10? I bought a few last year and they were rubbish.

    • Got Baseus Type-C to 3.5mm Cable Earphone Headphone Jack for $9.99 for Note 10 Plus. Works perfectly for me. Although stopped using it regularly after I got a QCY wireless headphones.

    • The apple, google and samsung adapter tested as working fine on Note 10 plus. The apple one is lower volume though.

All are around the $15 mark so i would advise to stay away from no name $10 adapters.

    for comparison

    apple usb-c to 3.5mm

Audio output 24 bit, 48000 Hz, Recording input 1 channel, 24 bit 48000 Hz

    Samsung usb-c to 3.5mm

Audio output 32 bit, 384000 Hz, Recording input 1 channel, 24 bit 48000 Hz

Venture Electronics (not HD) usb-c to 3.5mm

Audio output 16 bit, 48000 Hz, Recording input 2 channel, 16 bit 48000 Hz

these are the highest output input and can be changed if needed

    • helpful info, how ever good luck seeing any dif between either on normal headphones

  • Pretty bad if it flakes out on TRS headphones and you need an adapter. More shonky than a cheap import. I’d get your money back rather than spending more. Thanks though - seemed good value if you can’t wait, but apparently not. Only benefit vs achinese is you don’t wait 3-6 weeks.
