@gearbite, you can do better and you've done better https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/497102 ($708.05).

How’s the marketing image used on that listing: “Only 14.2kg, even girls can carry it easily” :/

  • Legal in NSW yet?

    • no but 'it' is legal in canberra now

      • What about vic?

        • what about it?

        • its as legal as smoking a joint in your backyard

        • still illegal, $800 fine too if caught riding one

          • @effraye: So is smoking a joint in the street but how many people actually get fined for that. Ud have to be pretty unlucky to get one probably cos your caught riding like an idiot

            • @Gavman: we have rules for a reason, because there is always 1 idiot.

  • FYi i have the non-pro version and quite like it. However I find the braking power lacking, and this one appears to have the same single mechanical disc brake on the non-pro version.

Is it so much to ask for hydraulic disc brake?

    • In my experience this scooter locks the rear wheel easily. The disc brake is enlarged on the pro model compared to the non-pro.

If you want the best braking you should look for a scooter with twin discs. But they do tend to flip if you’re not careful.

    • would you recommend the non-pro for someone who is using it for a short 6km (no hills) per day commute or would you go back & upgrade?

      • Definitely non pro unless you got a bunch of money to spare.

      • I haven't had the pro version so I can't say but Id definitely say the non pro version would suffice.

    • Yeah, it seems the brakes are quite aggressive when you are at higher speeds but at lower speeds it does basically jack all lol

  • ** Maximum speed may differ between markets to comply with the local laws and regulations. .. can this thing been beefed upt to 600W and go faster if someone know how to adjust it?

People like you are the reason why these are still illegal to ride one

    • +1

Firmware maybe able to be changed. Google is your friend

  • Shame they are illegal in SA, otherwise I'd get one.

    • Move to QLD… if enough of you do it, the government will start getting the message.

    • I ride mine around without issue in Adelaide. Just obey the road rules and you will be fine.

      • Yeah I'm wondering about riding in Adelaide too, shops seem to sell heaps but I'm yet to see anyone riding a personal one

  • How is gearbite for service/warranty etc?

I’m looking to pick one of these up soon and see there’s a few eBay stores doing deals every few weeks but want to know who to choose to buy from?

You should able to return items to aus warehouse. They are a better store than most smaller sellers. That being said, two of the cheaper stores operate from Brisbane and allow pickup. Personally I'd choose that option if the price difference was negligible

      • Thanks, can you provide a bit more detail? Is Aus Warehouse an eBay seller or do you mean Gearbite's warehouse? I have tried to search this name on eBay to no avail..

Also what are the names of these "cheaper stores" in Brisbane? I'm in Brisbane so that would be ideal as well. Thankyou!

One is called aos international i think. Go to ebay and search for Xiaomi products, then sort by price. The sellers mention Brisbane warehouses for pickup and trying out.

          • @belongsinforums: thank you. its very close to my place i can go there if there are any issues with the product

          • @belongsinforums: Do you know if it's a trustable store? I want to buy it and given that is in Brisbane I would be keen to go and pick it up directly

  • i am novice to this topic. There is one item on eBay called 2020 M365 Pro. Is that fake version of Mi or same one ? does any one know ?

      Not Xiaomi

Hi Mate. This is the fake version. I ordered this last week and it arrived from Brisbane a few days later. The seller tried to tell me it's an 'Aussie version' lol.

-The range is only like 15km NOT 45km
-The bell doesn't work. At all.
-The rear brake discs make a weird metal clutter noise, even when not moving
-The scooter doesn't lock when folded, it relies on a hinge which can easily undo itself and fall on the ground which happened multiple times\
-It doesn't have bluetooth and so u cant firmware upgrade, connect to any apps etc\

Notice how the ad doesn't say Xiaomi or bluetooth etc

DO NOT BUY THIS SCOOTER. I am returning it and getting a real one.

      • thank you. I have asked the seller and he mentioned its all same except app support. Absolutely BS

Isn't it ironic that Xiaomi immitates Apple's names to ride on their popularity like Laptop Air and Matebook, and now others are immitating Xiaomi with similar sounding name?
