I am able to use 1Password for free forever. Yes I can't use their online vault but I have another primary vault which sync's on icloud and I can access everything on all devices. Perhaps because I was an early adopter when it was just a once of paid app. Not sure.
The older versions weren't subscription based, so if you have a legacy version you can keep using that. I used it for quite a while and used Dropbox to sync it.
The downside is it doesn't update any more and you really need to keep credentials security up to date.
Yes, I'm using version 6.8.8. The protection seems pretty solid on this version.
how did you set this up please? I've been using version 6 and would like to do this as well. did your iCloud sync just keep working automatically with v7, or was there some trickery involved? thanks
I think you have to remain on version 6, or pay for version 7.
I had purchased their app in their early days. I don't know really why. I'm using version 6.8.8 but do not plan to upgrade anymore more. Why change when its not broken.

I’m not getting anywhere trying to apply to existing account. Tried cancelling current sub which ends soon, initiating the subscription again but shows code invalid.
When I follow the link from the post it starts asking me “what shall we call you” etc but then just signs me into my account normally.
Will try again on desktop but happy to hear any suggestions.
Also I highly recommend the product! Help your family setup and use! In terms of use on mobile especially, this product delivers value.

I've used 1Pass from even before they introduced the cloud option, and have now transitioned to that product now along with my family. It's one of the few subscription products that is worth paying for.
It does not seem to offer secured locally encrypted folders

I don't have android anymore but when I used it a few months ago I found all the password manager apps struggle with autofill, including 1Password. Unless something has changed recently I'd assume it's the same story.
