    Please calling your phones ‘refurb’.

    They are used.

    • Welcome to 2020, refurb, Pre-Order, season pass, autopilot.

      • it's not even 2020 terminology….

      Agreed.

      "pre-loved", "pre-owned", etc.

All these euphemisms drive me nuts. I don't know why people can call things refurbished nowadays when no part has been replaced.

      • well if they have gone through all diagnostics and replaced what they have to in order to resell it with a valid manufacturer warranty, then it would be a refurb. 'used' or 'preowned' would be slated if it was purely a purchase and resell.

Beats idiots all over FB advertising their months old phones as brand new… Or any other or product for that matter….

Lol fb marketplace is full of scammers, dropkicks, and bogans
Why anybody would even consider purchasing items from it is beyond me

@miq: I encountered a great one this week and let him know exactly what I thought of him….

Wanted $5000 for in his words a $7,000 PC Build, which I priced GENEROUSLY at $3600 lol

            (profanity).

Hope he's here reading this, with his fully sick RGB system annihilating the competition (his words…).

Oh yeah, wanted Paypal UPFRONT too.

            • @scuderiarmani: Was that on ebay, or fb marketplace?

I don't know how those ebay sellers get away with listing products $1000+ more than other same listings for same/similar items. Ebay should put a stop to that as it makes their business look bad.

@ozhunter68: Facebook, nothing you can really do about it….

Inevitably I'll see an ad telling others to be careful put up if someone is stupid enough to purchase it saying they got robbed, have seen that many a times with iPhones….

                • @scuderiarmani: Have you seen/heard of someone actually buying a phone on ebay for $1000 or so more than a regular priced same item?

                  • @ozhunter68: Not specifically, more just people getting robbed…

Some alarm bells should ring but unfortunately many don't pick up on them

I bought this last sale for $899 and it had a massive deep scratch on the left edge of the screen. The price is good but if all you're doing is physically cleaning/wiping them and resetting the software back to factory settings, these really are used phones rather than refurbed units.

Did I forget to add that when me and my wife took the phone back to the reservoir store for a change of mind return, some staff members made puzzled faces (how very surprising) and claimed that "the scratch wasn't there when it was despatched"…it wasn't until I had to make a stern-faced reminder that the phone was unused, and that I hadn't even bothered opening the charger, and showing a convo with customer service that they finally relented and returned the device.

I shuddered to think about the merry go round that would have ensued if I had posted the device back.

I understand you're selling second-hand phones, but things like deep scratches need adequate disclosure. A 1cm long scratch that is deep enough to be felt prominently when a fingertip is ran over it (not the nail) isn't minor/routine wear and tear.

    • That's where PayPal is a must

Being a true and long time Ozbargainer, I paid with Paypal for this exact reason!
