  • The white ones were 300 for the black Friday sales.

    • Missed that one. That’s a great price.

  • Never thought oppo would make high end headphones. Checking one review said dont bother reading the review just buy them….

    • They were made by an offshoot of Oppo, called Oppo Digital.
So they knew what they were doing apparently.

Going by rtings measurements, these have much better sub-bass than the LCD-1, so that’s a go from my part.
Also the midrange has been often described as ‘perfect’.
If only the price was lower..

    • They're out of the game already lol

  • I was looking into the Massdrop x Sennheiser 6XX headphones but the open back feature is a huge no for me (my environment is very loud: cicadas, road noise, port nearby), there were a lot of people saying that the Oppo PM3 is nearly a 1:1 closed back alternative to the 6XX, so that's saying something.

    • I would suspect being closed-back the PM-3 would have superior sub-bass compared to the open-back 6XX.
      (Similarly how PM-3 out-does the open-back LCD-1 in sub-bass)

    • So being the same as senns, it's gonna have the senn veil? Ie sounds like there's 2 pillows in between the ear and headphone?

  • Had this pair for 4+ years, I didnt want open back (due to kids hearing the noise) and didnt want something that had to be amplified, so considering that i got this pair. The sounds is great for the price and if you chuck a v-moda microphone in there you get a great gaming headset :)
Only issue is the peeling faux leather over time, but thats anything after daily use for 4 years.

    • 5-6 years seems possible if one works on being completely grease-free.

    • Have you compared this to a pair of V-Modas? If so, which model did you try?
