Seems to be a good price considering most on eBay around $39-$50
Whilst I cannot comment on the product (purchased this deal) reviews seem good and a much cheaper alternative then Weber's igrill.

I've had one of these for over a year and use it religiously on the bbq. Works a treat.

    • Agreed. The app is a bit hit and miss, but otherwise great value for money!

What's the BT range like? Cause this will cost less than a single replacement probe for my Maverick :/

      • Bt Range is very good. The only gripe i have is when an alarm is triggered and your out of range, the unit itself continues to alert quite loudly

And the other thing is the replacement probes are fairly cheap, the last time they were $11ea

My BT reaches about 10m through 2 walls.

        • That works for me. Between $45 for thermoworks and $35 for mavericks, I am done buying anything with probes that cost more than a six pack

        • And the other thing is the replacement probes are fairly cheap, the last time they were $11ea

This is the primary reason I bought the inkbird. I've had other devices that have probes that can't easily be sourced or economically replaced.

I've got the IBT-6X, it's been great. Good battery life and works well. No issues with the Android app. Bluetooth range even goes through a couple of rooms inside, so I've done overnight cooks where I've been able to just wake up every couple of hours, check temps from bed and go back to sleep.

That's a lot of probes! Your roast must look like it's on life support when in the oven!

        • You can order the 6X on eBay with 4 probes. Figured I might want more later.
Only gets used for BBQ duties for me, so it's a BBQ on life support lol

  • I've got one. Works well.

My only grip is when the probes are inserted into cold meat, the device will switch off after a few minutes. The probes need to measure a minimum temp for the device to stay connected.

    • How cold? usually have mine at room temp (~15°) and it hasn't turned off.

      • Cold, like 5c.

Not a big deal, once it reaches the minimum temp (i don't know what this is) it stays on.

Just a shame the meat can't go straight from fridge to oven, without revisiting the device 10 mins later to turn it back on.

Yes, I know the meat should be at room temp first, but not always possible!

        • Oh fair enough, maybe turn it on, heat the probe up with your fingers first, then im6sert it. It should only turn off when it detects no temp difference at low temps. I'm surprised at fridge temp, the meat doesn't start heating up inside a minute or two.

          • @[Deactivated]: Tried the finger test, but still switches off.

When I did the Xmas turkey roll it took about 15 minutes for it to reach a temp at which it stayed on. Both probes were deep in the meat. If I used one as an oven temp probe it would have been fine.

is there a Wi-Fi version for this?

  • Now in need both of my hands to check the temperature. Who’s cooking?

Whilst I cannot comment on the product

I can, it's compact, reliable and replacement probes are cheap. I've got the 2 probe one, I sometime wish I gotten the 4 probe one. It's not only good to be able to measure the temp of 4 different items (e.g. steak) but also if your cooking a large piece of meat, knowing which parts are cooking quickly and which aren't.

It really has been an awesome tool for perfecting steaks, legs of lamb, etc

    Bought one, thanks OP.

I'm going to get smoked (pun kinda intended) when my wife sees I bought another Bluetooth thermometer, but my Maverick has just kicked the bucket and the replacement I bought in a pinch at Bunnings over Christmas died after the second use.

I also doubled down and bought one of the quick read "thermopens" that had good reviews, purely to get free shipping of course.

I request that my epitaph reads "The Quest for the perfect temperature reading got him dead"

  • Thanks OP - Bought one!
