Seems it is only the noodles and broth. Need to add the meat, cup of vegetables and an egg separately.
Fake news then?
You can get ramen with Australian beef, made in Taiwan for around $5 at a Asian store.
@nephilim: whats it called, look like?
I bought the ramen kit previous time that it was $4. It has 2 packs in the kit, so each serving is $2.
It is definitely not worth the $2 in my view. I bought 2 boxes, used the first kit, and didn't use the second for months because it wasn't very good.
The noodle doesn't even feel nor taste like ramen noodle. Not sure what is it.
Thanks heaps!
These are decent but I like the Hart and soul ones better (with Konjac noddles).
My Viet friend commented,”Mr.Chen & Made in Thailand” lol authentic
Your friend have clearly never been to an authentic Indian restaurant in Harris park or a Korean BBQ in Strathfield.
Just ran out, it comes for 2 so for one it's $2 each meal. Do love the pho one, the reman is ok. Not sure if you can buy broth cheaper. But saves me cooking and it make a quick and easy meal.
The Coles brand pho broth is on sale at $2 often, but it's complete shite.
you look like Asian Barbra Streisand
Ah Mr.Chen you've done it again!
I tried the Ramen one a few months ago. It was horrible.
The broth was an overwhelming unpalatable soy sauce mixture.
Don't bother.How about half broth?
+1 on the Ramen kit being horrible; the broth was weak, and the noodles were average. If you want a “true ramen” experience, then the prep time for proper meat would far outweigh the convenience of this kit. Much better to either just pay for good ramen or commit to making your own.
I have a feeling that the Pho kit might be decent, since I feel it’s easier to replicate that quickly at home / from a packet than ramen, which takes actual days to properly prepare.
Just had the Pho kit, was pretty good for what it is and was two decent bowl size serves. Had some ribeye with it and was nice. I would say you want to have chilli's on hand, some lime (i had on hand) and bean sprouts. Would turn out pretty damn authentic if you did that.
Was going to suggest the same about the additions.
Could also add some hoisin sauce + sriracha if that's your style.
Eating the pho now. I made with mushrooms and tofu instead of beef. Added heaps of coriander, bean sprouts and slice of lemon. The broth is lacking in flavour, I think 1/2 cup of water is too much, but the elements are there and it's not a bad kit IMO. Would have liked to add some chili but only have the paste stuff right now. Very large serving, all in all not bad.
Anyone able to provide a mini review of these? Tempted to try.
