I haven’t used this brand but a very similar looking one, smaller leaves and nuts/seed pods work their way under and you still have to clean the gutter, but now you have the fun of removing the guard first and it flicks debris in your face.

I guess the slope on my former roof could have been too flat.

        • Good point,
          thanks for the info :)

Bit hard to resist at this price

          • @LHSolutions: If you’re tempted buy enough for your whole house but only install it in one length, if they aren’t to your liking you can probably return the unused stuff.

        • @mapax, agreed. I had a similar experience with a similar product. My roof has a slope about 22 degrees. The leaves get caught and it wasn't easy to clean them out, so I just removed the gutter guard and never put it back because it didn't save me any time.

        • I knew it, I had been thinking of getting some for ages but seemed to vaguely remember my parents swearing about how crap it was when I was a kid. Glad to see my memory isn't going bad yet.

      • Leaves still pile up around it, if you dont clean it turns to dirt… Depends how many acres you have and how many trees. We hate them.

Got some metal type that sit flush with the roof in the profile of the iron and gutter lip, still hold some leaves (the stems catch and grab a bit in the holes) but a lot more blows off in the wind.

      • What everyone one else said , leaves and rubbish still get in and you have to remove the guttergaud to clean it out.

Our house had a gutter guard and leaves were still getting caught underneath it plus it cost extra to remove & replace the guard when we had the gutters cleaned annually.

We replaced the guttering last summer without the gutter guard & arranged for the first gutter clean last month with the same company that we've used for the past few years - the guys commented that the gutters weren't any 'dirtier' than when we had the gutter guard. Bonus being that the gutter clean was cheaper with no gutter guard.

  • I tried this to stop the Indian minor birds getting under the roofing sheets but this stuff wasn't sturdy enough. Used the galvinised mesh which did the job as well as helping with the leaves

    • Irresponsible Indian adult birds letting the minors run amuck? A couple of thuggish myna birds in your neighbourhood will drive the family away.

      • Haha.. 😄
