  The difference between this and what NAB/Optus/Telstra/Vodaphone/AirBNB etc are doing is they are offering a free service while you are shamelessly promoting your product on the back of a national disaster. Yes i realize those other companies are doing it for the free PR but the point still stands.

    Agree with your point. We will make a contribution without associating a product and have adjusted. - Sadly of course we don't have reach into that area with our products or anything so trying to raise somehow. Sorry you're right.

      Why not directly donate like anyone else? Why not just have a regular sale, earn some money and just donate a portion of the profits? You don't have to use it as a marketing ploy or announce it to the world. You can even claim it on tax if you are so inclined.

  So the product is $5 more than previously advertised and the seller claims they are paying out $10 so their net revenue after the donation is $5 less.

  They're still doing something which is something more than keyboard outrage.

      i did write at first "its a bit dodgy". in the end the bushfire victims would be getting more money and isnt that what its all about?.

      i guess if u want a coffee press may aswell buy it from somewhere else so the bushfire victims dont get anything at all hey.
      i do understand its a bit disrespectful of people to advertise their business using a disaster. i just figured in the end the victims will be getting more money so maybe people can just forget the "disrespectful" bit this time.
